(BELLAMY POV)

The next morning August had to be in front of the clans with Gaia as the warriors of each clan is announced. I decided to go try my luck at talking to Octavia. I knock on the door as I see her sitting in a room.

"Here to give me a pep talk?" She asks before I go sit beside her.

"You don't have to do this. We can find someone else to fight," I tell her.
"If I die, I die," She says. "At least I go down fighting."
"O," I try.

"Don't. This is my decision, Bell," She says. "I know what the odds are. I don't need you pointing them out."
"It's time," Clarke says as she enters the room. Octavia goes to walk out. "Hey, you got this."
"You really think she has a chance?" I ask her.

"Right now, she needs to believe it," Clarke answers before she goes to walk outside.

"Were you really going to kill August?" I ask her and she freezes. "Clarke, I need to know."

"Yes," Clarke barely whispers out as she turns to me with tears in her eyes.

"If Octavia or August die today, know that I am going to blame you. I won't kill you because you deserve to live with the fact that it is your fault if they die," I tell her before I walk outside.

(AUGUST POV)

I am standing beside Gaia as she announces the warriors who are fighting for their clans.

"Octavia kom Skaikru, step forward," Gaia announces. I see her walk outside and she is followed by Bellamy. Hopefully, they were able to talk. "Accept the sigil of your clan and fight with honor as their champion." Octavia walks to stand beside Roan. "Ilian kom Trishanakru." I keep a straight face even though I could punch him for what he did to Arkadia. "Accept the sigil of your clan and fight with honor as their champion." Ilian walks over to stand beside Octavia. "A conclave, a battle to the death within the walls of Polis. These warriors will fight until only one remains. When that warrior collects all of the sigils from the fallen and delivers them to me, they will be declared the victor. This final champion alone will tell us which clan is meant to survive in the crypt of Bekka Pramheda, and if that is different from the Commander, they must fight till the death to determine which clans are meant to perish in Praimfaya." Gaia looks at me and nods.

"Osir koma op daun bilaik slip daun kom bleirona, ba mafta op Won bilaik hef em op mou beda," I say. We honor those who fall by the sword but follow the one who wields it best.

"Daun bilaik ai," Luna says as she walks forward. That would be me. "I'm Luna kom Flokru, and I'm the last of my clan."
"We know who you are," Gaia says. "The Natblida who ran from her conclave."
"I'm not running from this one," Luna says. Gaia looks at me and I nod.
"Accept this sigil, Luna kom Flokru, but with your clan gone, who will you fight for?" Gaia asks her.

"I fight for no one. I fight for death. When I win no one will be saved," Luna answers. The champions are sent to prepare for the conclave. I grab a hood and cover myself as me and Indra go to see Octavia. I look at her war paint and notice that it is Lincoln's chest tattoo.
"Lincoln's tattoo," I say as I point from her forehead before tapping on mine where I have Lincoln's back tattoo symbolized. "He would be proud of you." She nods.
"Don't fight with aggression. Don't reveal your next move before you strike," Indra says.
"And never leave myself exposed. I remember," Octavia says.
"It's okay to be afraid," Indra says.
"I'm not," Octavia argues.
"Gaia would never accept this," Indra says as she pulls out her sword. "But I hope that you will."
"Why are you helping me?" Octavia asks. "If I win, that would mean the end of your people."

"Yu laik ai kru," Indra says. You are my people. This makes Octavia smile before she takes the sword. Octavia holds her arm out to Indra which she takes but Indra pulls her into a hug. "I taught you to fight, but who you fight for is up to you." Indra then walks a few feet away. I then pull Octavia into a hug.
