(AUGUST POV)
Bellamy, Roan, Monty, my father, and I are meeting to discuss what is left of the ship.
"Sectors, 3, 4, and 5 sustained the worst damage. We lost the server room, all of our processors, and life support systems, and half of our living quarters. Now, backup power will keep the lights on at night in the rooms that survived, but we'll have no heat or running water. And no way to restore it or reseal the ship before the radiation gets here," Monty explains.
"Is there any good news?" Bellamy asks.
"Well, no one died," My father answers.
"Forget the Ark. It was never gonna save us all anyway," I say.
"We need to focus our resources on the Nightblood solution," Clarke says as she walks in. "Is the fuel loaded?"
"It's in the process, but, Clarke, it isn't gonna be an easy ride," Bellamy says.
"What don't I know?" Clarke asks.
"With the secret of Praimfaya out, Roan sent Echo and his army back to Polis to keep the peace," I answer her.
"That's good. We need peace to distribute the cure," Clarke says.
"More than half of them deserted on the way. With the end coming, they want to be home. I don't blame them," Roan explains.
"Do you blame them for burning Trikru villages as they go?" Bellamy asks him.
"That's funny coming from you," Roan says.
"Enough. We know the woods are a war zone," I say.
"After what happened with Ilian, I can't spare many of the guards to protect you," My father explains.
"My security detail can protect us," Roan says.
"Thank you. That's very generous," My father says.
"We are all in this together now," Roan says before leaving the room.
"I'm gonna check on Octavia before we go," Bellamy says.
"I'll go with you, so I can see Mika," I tell him. She's still recovering since she is so young it is taking her a little longer than Luna. I see Mika as soon as we walk into medbay.
"August," Mika says as she runs over to me.
"How's my little natblida?" I ask her as I pick her up and tickle her stomach causing her to giggle. I see Bellamy smile at us from the corner of my eye before he walks over to Octavia.
"You gave us a scare. You saved so many people, O. Without you getting here to warn us Azgeda was coming, we'd be at war," Bellamy says.
"Get out," Octavia orders. The end of the world is coming and she still won't talk to her brother.
"Octavia, I thought you were dead," Bellamy says.
"Octavia is dead. She died when you killed Lincoln," Octavia says.
"Please don't say that O. Hey, I'm your brother," Bellamy says.
"Why do you think you're still alive?" Octavia asks him. Bellamy then leaves the room.
"I'll be back soon," I tell Mika before I set her down. I then walk over to Octavia. "It's the end of the world, O. I hate that Lincoln is dead too, but you need to let go what you feel towards your brother. Any of us could die any day now. Do you really want to carry the guilt of having your brother think you hate him when and if he dies? Bellamy would do anything for you and you know that. He almost killed Jaha just to make sure you didn't have to survive Earth on your own. He's your brother, your blood. That should mean something, especially when he's the only family you have left." I see tears in Octavia's eyes before I leave the room. I find Clarke and we make our way over to Roan.
"Bellamy, August, and I will lead the way in the Rover. You and your men will ride in back with the fuel," Clarke says.
"The King of Azgeda follows no one," Seiku says.
"It's all right, Seiku. Best we stay out of sight for now," Roan says.
"It's time to go," Bellamy says as he walks past. Clarke gives me a confused look.
"Octavia," I tell her. Monty hops out of the rover. "All set?"
"Locked and loaded," Monty answers. "I do, however, feel the need to reiterate: you're about to drive the last 10 barrels of hydrazine known to man, a cargo which Raven needs every last drop of, through hostile territory packed with warring clans, over uneven roads where one serious bump could cause an explosion that would not only kill all of you but would wipe out mankind's only remaining chance for survival."
"What could possibly go wrong?" Roan asks before walking to the back of the rover. Clarke and I walk off to join Bellamy. Bellamy drives while I sit passenger with Clarke in the back. I see that Bellamy is slightly distracted.
