(AUGUST POV)
Bellamy, Octavia and I carried Lincoln back to the dropship before taking him to the top level. Bellamy and I tie Lincoln up in the dropship, for when he woke up. I look at his body and see that the bullet needs to be taken out of his leg but I don't have the things to do that. Other than that I have no clue on what else to do.
"We need Clarke," I say as I turn to Bellamy. Bellamy nods before climbing down the ladder. About an hour after Bellamy left, Lincoln woke up. He keeps lunging at Octavia and me. I keep a comforting arm wrapped around Octavia as she continues to stare at Lincoln. Clarke's head then pops through the hatch and Lincoln lunges at her which scares her. "It's okay. He's been restrained."
"I can't believe we're back here again," Clarke says as she climbs all the way up.
"Can you help him?" Octavia asks Clarke. Lincoln roars as Bellamy climbs up the ladder, joining them.
"I don't know. I knew Mount Weather controlled the Reapers. I had no idea they were creating them," Clarke answers.
"If they can do that to Lincoln, what are they doing to our friends?" Bellamy asks. Since it was getting dark Bellamy and Octavia shine their flashlights on Lincoln while Clarke and I walk toward Lincoln.
"He's convulsing," Clarke states when Lincoln starts shaking.
"So, what does it mean?" Octavia asks.
"What happened to his leg?" Clarke asks as she takes notice of where I had wrapped his leg and all of the blood.
"I shot him," Octavia answers ashamed.
"Clarke, he's lost a lot of blood," I state.
"Can you shine the light on his neck?" Clarke asks as she and I step closer to Lincoln. Bellamy and Octavia do as asked. I notice that Lincoln shies away from the light. "Needle marks." I see the marks that she points out.
"You think he's been drugged?" Bellamy asks.
"Maybe," Clarke answers as she takes a few steps back. Lincoln tugs on the restraints and one of the arm restraints breaks. Lincoln then grabs my head and pulls me towards him as he other arm breaks loose.
"Lincoln!" Octavia shouts as she runs forward to hit Lincoln on the head but he slings her into the wall. Lincoln's hand grips onto my hair. Bellamy runs forward and starts hitting the arm that is holding me. Lincoln slings Bellamy back and lets go of me which causes her to move backward, knocking into Clarke making them fall to the ground. Lincoln tries to walk forward but falls because of his leg restraints. Lincoln tries to crawl towards Clarke and me before noticing that he can't reach us. He stands and starts pulling at his leg restraint. Bellamy runs forward with the shock baton but Lincoln breaks the restraint and throws Bellamy to the ground. Lincoln starts punching Bellamy.
"No!" I yell as I run forward to help Bellamy but Lincoln knocks me to the ground. Octavia hits Lincoln in the head with a pipe knocking him out. We tie him down on the floor with chains running over his body.
"We have to stop the bleeding and get the bullet out. Hold his leg down," Clarke orders as she grabs her stuff. Bellamy and I grab his leg, holding it down.
"Shh, shh," Octavia says as she pours some water into Lincoln's mouth.
"Rawr!" Lincoln spits out the water.
"Aah!" Octavia yells as she drops the water as she jumps away from Lincoln. "I'll get some more." Octavia heads for the ladder but Bellamy grabs her arm.
"O. Once the drug is out of his system, he'll be okay," Bellamy says.
"You can't protect me from this one, big brother," Octavia says before she goes down the ladder.
"Your mom would be proud," I tell Clarke as she wraps Lincoln's leg after taking the bullet out.
"My mom would know how to save him," Clarke states. Octavia then comes up the ladder with Nyko behind her. Bellamy grabs his gun and aims it at Nyko.
"Bellamy, don't," I say as Octavia and I stand between Nyko and Bellamy.
"He's Lincoln's friend and their healer," Octavia explains.
"He's my friend," I whisper to Bellamy.
"He's seizing again," Clarke says gaining my attention. I go to Lincoln's side followed by Octavia. Nyko unrolls his medicine pouch before grabbing one of them. "What is that?"
"Yu gonplei ste odon," Nyko says as he holds the medicine above Lincoln's mouth.
"Wait!" I say quickly as I understand what he said. I catch the drop of medicine in my hand as it drops from the bottle. Nyko draws out a knife.
"Back off. Right now," Bellamy says he raises his gun at Nyko.
"Yu gonplei ste odon. It's what they say before death," I explain as I glare at Nyko.
"He's not trying to heal him. He's trying to kill him," Clarke agrees having heard me say it before Anya's death.
"Nyko? Is it true?" Octavia questions him.
"Yes," Nyko answers.
"Nyko, why?" I ask him confused as to why he would kill his friend.
"Death is the only way," Nyko answers sorrowfully.
"Hold on. There could be a way to bring him back," Clarke explains.
"None that I've ever seen," Nyko says as he stands and drops the knife.
"We have to go. The camp's leaving," Finn says as he comes up the ladder.
"You!" Nyko yells as he heads towards Finn.
"We have to stop..." Finn begins. Nyko grabs Finn slamming him into the wall.
"Yu fraga!" Nyko says as he calls Finn a murder.
"Get off him!" Bellamy orders he raises his gun.
"You slaughtered my people. Elders. Children. Innocents," Nyko says as he starts choking Finn.
"Nyko, you're killing him," Octavia says as she pulls on his arm.
"Blood must have blood!" Nyko exclaims.
"Get out of the way!" Bellamy orders Octavia.
"Bellamy, you're not shooting him!" I say as I stand between him and Nyko. "No!" Octavia says at the same time.
"Aah!" Nyko yells as Clarke shocks him with the baton making him fall. Finn leaves the room.
"Lincoln," Octavia says as she looks at Lincoln. Octavia and I rush over to him, kneeling on either side of him. "He's not breathing." I feel for a pulse on his neck.
"His heart stopped," I state as I don't find a pulse and Clarke comes over.
"Move," Clarke orders and I move to beside Octavia. Clarke starts doing chest compressions until Lincoln starts breathing again.
"He was dead. How did you do that?" Nyko asks shocked.
"You've tried bringing Reapers back before? And they died like this?" I question him as a plan starts forming in my head. Nyko nods yes. I look over at Clarke before we share a knowing look.
"What is it?" Bellamy asks as he notices mine and Clarke's look. I nod at Clarke, giving her the go-ahead to explain.
"We know how to stop the attack," Clarke answers.
"Clarke, you go. I'll watch over Lincoln," I say before Clarke nods and leaves to go talk with Abby. Octavia goes and gets a bucket of water while I find a rag. When Octavia comes back she takes the rag before soaking it. She then starts patting Lincoln's head to keep his fever down. About an hour or so later the hatch opens and Finn comes up the ladder.
"Oh, thank God," Octavia says.
"Where's Clarke?" I ask as I only see Finn.
"Trying to stop a war," Finn answers. Abby comes up the ladder before walking over to Lincoln.
"Pupils are unresponsive," Abby says as she opens one of Lincoln's eyes. "Tie off his arm. Tight as you can." I take some rubber tubing from Abby and tie it onto Lincoln's arm as tight as I can. "Thanks to the supplies your brother found, Lincoln might have a chance." Abby then grabs a needle before filling it with medicine.
"What's that?" Octavia asks.
"This will bring down his fever," Abby answers as she goes to stick the needle into Lincoln's arm but he starts jerking.
"Hold him down!" I order as I grab Lincoln's shoulders. Finn, Bellamy, and Octavia help me hold Lincoln down. Abby is able to give him the medicine.
"What's happening? Why isn't it working?" Octavia asks as Lincoln continues to shake. Lincoln then stops shaking and Abby feels for a pulse.
"His heart stopped," Abby answers as she starts to do chest compressions. Nyko walks over to them. "You're their healer? Tilt his head back. Pull his chin down to open his airway." Nyko does as he is told. Finn, Bellamy and I all step back to give them space.
"You're stopping. What's wrong?" Octavia questions as Abby stops the chest compressions.
"I'm sorry. He's gone," Abby answers.
"No, it's not possible. You're wrong!" Octavia yells.
"Octavia," Bellamy says as he goes to Octavia but Octavia starts doing chest compressions.
"Come back. Lincoln," Octavia says as she starts crying and giving up. Clarke, the commander, Indra and another grounder come through the hatch. Abby shakes her head at Clarke. I see the shock baton knowing that I may not have time to grab my sword right away. Bellamy reaches for his gun.
"I'll kill them all," Indra says as she unsheathes her sword. I quickly grab the shock baton in one hand and I'm able to unsheathe my sword with the other. Bellamy grabs his gun as the other grounders unsheathe their swords. I stand between Clarke, Abby and the commander.
"Please. You don't have to do this," Clarke begs.
"You lied. And you're out of time," The commander says. Hearing the electricity in the shock baton reminds me of the videos I had once watch where doctors would bring back heartbeats with electricity. I quickly stick the shock baton to Lincoln's chest but nothing happens.
"Hit him again," Abby says understanding what I am doing. I do it again and Lincoln starts breathing.
"Lincoln," Octavia says as she kneels beside him again.
"Octavia," Lincoln whispers as he looks at her. The grounders look shocked before sheathing they're swords. The grounders then go back down the ladder. Clarke goes to head towards the ladder.
"I'm going with you this time," I tell Clarke. Clarke nods as she starts climbing down the ladder. Bellamy goes to protest but I'm already climbing down the ladder. Clarke and I follow the grounders back to where they have their camp set up.
"I just want to go Lincoln's recovery was impressive. No one's ever survived such a fate before," The commander, whose name is Lexa, says.
"It's not complicated, really. We just have to keep them alive long enough for the drug to leave their system," I explain.
"I know we can do the same for others," Clarke adds.
"You may have your truce," Lexa states. Clarke and I share a smile.
"Thank you," Clarke says.
"I just need one thing in return," Lexa says.
"Tell us," Clarke says.
"Deliver me the one you call Finn. Our truce begins with his death," Lexa explains.
