The townspeople were rounded up at the heart of Kaza City, including the other guards stationed inside to protect the civilians from us. Our warriors took some time in dealing with them. A lot was dedicated to either escaping or fighting back, which brought trouble to our side the Pack needed to take immediate action. We didn't want this to end in another bloodshed and we were refraining ourselves from killing and hurting the civilians.

Screams of the females, wails of babies and children, yell of the males. It wasn't the most excellent thing to hear as we invaded their city but what they didn't know was that—- they were safe with us. The only reason we secured this city was because it was how war tactics worked. We needed the morale of knowing we were able to seize territories and inflict fear on the opponent. That we knew we could win this war.

I faced the civilians and memorized the horrified, terrified, pale faces of each and every one of them. Midnight had only said a few words to them before Vlad locked them in a barrier. We will be providing them food and water and attending to any of those who were sick. If by chance kailangan nilang gumamit ng banyo, sasamahan sila ng dalawang bantay.

I didn't even join the battle for today but my body was as heavy as a boulder. The inn we chose to use for the next few nights was owned by their General Franko himself, meant for the nobles living in this city.

"Tired, my love?" Midnight was busy writing letters now at a desk not so far from the four-poster bed.

Midnight gave me a brief glance and smiled faintly. "Perhaps a nice hot bath would help ease the tension in your body? I'll heat the water now. Today's very tiring, indeed"

"I didn't do anything"

"Hmm? You help with the civilians. It's a hard job" he put his quill down and was about to stand up when I stopped him.

"Ako na mag-iinit ng tubig. Tapusin mo na lang 'yan"

Umupo siya uli. "Nagugutom ka na ba?"

I shook my head, didn't really have the appetite to eat for now.

The Pack will be gathering later tonight for another meeting, right now they were tasked by Midnight to oversee the operations outside. I still needed to pen Ravi a letter. Update him and all. There was no reason for me to worry about Ladon when I have him but I guess I couldn't help it.

I woke up in bed.

"Just how tired are you?"

Kinusot kusot ko ang aking mga mata. "I'm not sure" I stretched my arms and legs before standing up. "Hindi ka pa 'rin tapos dyan?"
