The world went utterly quiet after the massive massacre the sky did to them. While it did not completely wipe out the entire army of the enemy, it made them cower back in confusion and dissatisfaction and started begging for their lives to be spared. I had wished for Midnight to witness what I accomplished, disappointed that he did not, but also hoping he wouldn't ever get to witness them.

Ayoko ng magka gyera pa muli. Ayoko ng gamitin ang ganitong teknik. I hoped this would be the first and last time I used it.

Midnight had pulled back the Emperor's head from the burnt body by the remaining crisp hair it had, forcing himself onto his feet. Lumakad siya kung saan ako nakapwesto. He faced me, and held out the head for the whole army to see.

Then came the screams and shouts of victory. The cries and yells of triumph. The dragons bellowed. The demons roared out. The witches screeched. The mortals rumbled. The whole army was celebrating in a split second.

There was something at that very moment that I found exhilarating, and it brought a light feeling into my chest. It was as though all the burdens I was carrying all these years suddenly vanished, and all those worries, the exhaustion I felt during the battle—- all of them disappeared as I witnessed the army raise their weapons high into the sky and braced each other.

"All hail the King and the Queen!"

Those words were repeated again and again.

Midnight pressed a kiss on my head, "Umuwi na tayo" mahina at malumanay niyang sabi saakin.

Tumango ako. "Umuwi na tayo"

The journey back to the battefield was as rough as the fighting. May mga nagtangka pang tumakbo, but was easily caught by the others. Those who couldn't bear the idea of getting caught took their own lives. That was a sad moment. To think that they rather die than deal with the consequences of losing a war.

Nagpadala kaagad sila ng kabayo para saamin. Sinubukan kong palabasin si Black Jack, but because my body was exhausted and only a little power remained in me, I wasn't able to summon him out. Though there were some dragons in their dragon forms helping the injured to be evacuated immediately. Same goes to the other winged-demons. Witches who could summon out portals also helped in evacuating.

The moment we stepped inside the battlefield, there were a lot of bodies lying around from left to right. Even though I felt sick in my stomach and wanted the bile to come out of my mouth, I forced myself to look every dead person in the face just to see if there were any familiar faces.

I might have seen the faces of our comrades and felt downhearted for losing them, but they died as warriors, and with great honor. I shouldn't be sad for them. It would be offensive. And to be honest, I was kind of relieved that they weren't my friends' faces. Gago man ako pakinggan, but I couldn't help but feel that kind of comfort.

It only took a few minutes for Day to receive us with a face contorted in an ugly way.

He said he could heal and regenerate without assistance, that we shouldn't worry about him. So he needed Day to focus on healing the others first.
