"Anong nangyayare?" I felt so stupid to ask but I feared being ignorant more. In a shift of the air, I sensed something have turned bare. As if the whole palace have became vacant, but I ashamedly couldn't place what kind of presence vanished. The absence of something or someone had cost chills down my spine.

It took me a minute to realize most of the shadow demons' heavy energy had dissipated as though they too have joined whatever circumstance I was in right now. My head automatically whipped to search for Feline's body and was a little bit relieved I saw her standing where she was stationed. She had given me assurance she wouldn't do anything without my permission by inclining her head in my direction. A needle was plucked out from my pounding heart.

Below, chaos.

Demons were running—teleporting to wherever placed they wished to do so. Children were no exception as they all roared ancient words I couldn't understand. Old language of the Demons. I pulled my skirts up and lunged my way to the rails to have a better view of the situation.

Scurrying away like animals in the midst of danger but in their case, they didn't look threatened or scared or terrified. These demons, they were excited. Exhilarated like never before. The look in their eyes gave off a very different meaning for someone who never witnessed this. A bolt of rush went through me. Adrenaline kicked in and I felt like moving with them. I must be crazy getting thrilled over something like this.

Ano 'daw?

Lumapit siya saakin sabay tinapik ako sa balikat, "See you sa last day, master"

"Ano?--" He already transformed himself into a medium-sized dragon and flew away. I needed to embrace myself from the shockwave his wings made, shouting a curse at him in the process.

Litong lito kong tinignan ang iba pagkatapos.

Radu only gave me one of those frisky grins of his before he waved a hand and vanished in thin air. As soon as I heard another pair of wings beating, my eyes instantly went to Killian. "Good luck to everyone. I would have said 'May the Devil curse you' too but I'm an angel. Was, though" His upper body bent into a very gentlemanly bow, "Blessed upon thee, my friends"

"Kaloka talaga kahit kailan" Ika ni Kaimana. Hindi ko alam kung bakit hinuhubad niya ngayon ang kanyang suot suot na takong. "Girl, see you soon. Kailangan ko ng umalis at baka maunahan ako ng mga gago" she beamed a cunning smile at me. "Bye. Happy hunting to all"

Bago ko pa man maabutan sina Tartarus, Vlad, at Day— wala na sila.

What the hell?

Tatiana was still here, her eyes on me like she was waiting for my next course of action. Close to assessing but her expression was too open for anyone to read. As easy as figuring out what color the moon was. Whoever taught her about concealing expressions, that angel hadn't stepped foot in this empire yet.

I didn't go to him for a reason. I wanted to flaunt my power over Midnight. This Demon King might be the most hostile creature one could ever encounter, worst than a nightmare even, but this king would kill for me.
