Advance Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!
----
Miro was impatiently waiting in front of the hearth with his arms crossed and brows furrowed while Midnight was casually leaning on the dining counter with the same gesture. I, on the other hand, was only sitting on the provided high chair, patiently waiting for them to finish the tarts they were baking.
"Patience is a virtue" Sagot naman ng kanyang tatay sakanya.
"Gutom na po ako" Miro countered back.
"Ako rin" I joined the conversation. "Gutom na 'rin ako"
Midnight turned just to give me a bored look. I smiled at him. He faked a smile back at me.
It had been 13 years since the day I woke up from my deep slumber. We were immortals, and we had all the time in this world to do everything we want as a married couple before having children of our own. But one day we both just realized we wanted to make a family already.
Ngayon, pitong taong gulang na si Miro.
And Simphia, my firstborn was the exact copy of the Midnight Zagreus.
Miro of the seven owned the same dark raven hair her father had. His eyes might be pink like mine, but their shape and how he looked at everybody around him felt like you were looking at the Emperor and Demon King. And I wasn't bitter about it.
"Your uncle Tartarus can fuck off" Agad kong tinampal braso ni Midnight.
"I don't understand"
When Miro turned 3, he was already smart enough to throw a dagger at a subject. Ever since that day, we needed to train and teach him the basics to prevent him from doing something dangerous. He might be a baby but he had the instincts of a demon. Midnight told me not to stress over it and comforted me by saying a demon baby would naturally learn how to quiet itself down.
When I thought Midnight would be the first one to teach Miro how to rule over an empire, he was doing cooking and baking sessions with Miro instead.
Even the Pack was training Miro individually, teaching him in every area where they escalated the most, but Midnight had yet to do the same with his own son.
Nung tinanong ko si Midnight tungkol dito, he gave me a prideful smirk and said, "All bow before good food, my love. So did you, no? Rest assured I am doing my best to teach our son how to be as charming as his father"
I ended up slapping him on his face while suppressing a giggle. Midnight was still unpredictable, as usual.
I had my moments with my son. Midnight had his too. Despite the busy schedule we have as Emperor and Empress of the Empire of Ursa, we still find ways to spend time with our child.
