Katherine looked at her husband.

-"Of course, honey, you're already part of this family, so let's make it official as soon as she gets back from her mission," Lane said.

Carina could have sworn she saw a tear fall from her stepfather's eye. Katherine herself had shed some for sure.

At 8:00 a.m. Carina kissed Lane and got into Katherine's car to be dropped off at the airport.

They chatted on the way.

- "I'm going to look at the airport for an engagement ring. They always make us come way too early."

- "Will you send me pictures? "

-"Of course, Katherine, you are my favorite accomplice."

Katherine accompanied Carina to the door where their paths would part.

The saleswoman approached Carina.

- "hello yes I would like to buy these two rings. One in rose gold and black diamond and the one next to it in rose gold and classic diamond".

- "these are wedding rings, ma'am"

- "yes and I hope she says yes"

- "oh, congratulations ma'am, should I have them engraved?"

- "Does it take long? I have to board in..." She looked at her watch "45 minutes"

- "about 15 minutes per engraving"

- "perfect. Can you engrave on the black diamond one 'ti amo per sempre' and on the other one 'per sempre' "
