Carina was a young girl whose father was a colonel on the base where Maya's father had been assigned.
She had gone with her brother to her grandparents' house in Belpasso for the summer, as they did every summer.
Their father had been a colonel on this base for a long time, so they knew everyone. Except, of course, for the newcomers who had arrived this summer while they were away.
Carina and her brother were twins, they were both beautiful, probably the two best looking kids on the base. They were very popular.
Popular... at least Carina was popular with the boys, she didn't have girl friends. Of course, she had had some. However, as the base was limited in the number of young people, the competition was tough, and the girls had little confidence in such a beautiful girl.
Of course Carina had friends but at home... Well, at her grandparents' house.
She didn't mind not having any friends on the base, so she could concentrate on her studies.
Her goal was to be able to leave this base to study elsewhere, why not go to the United States.
