The ordeal

That afternoon, the two young women had gone shopping and had gone to the station to see Maya's colleagues between two interventions.

In the supermarket, many people had stared at Maya. Seeing the two women together, some probably thought it was a homophobic attack.
They then went to the bakery to get donuts and other muffins for Maya's colleagues.

They were all happy to see her. They weren't even surprised that Maya came to see them, they were a real family and she didn't know how to stay away from that barracks.

The thing is not that she couldn't stay away from that barracks, but that she was having a hard time staying cooped up with her girlfriend without being able to do anything she wanted.

- "How are you holding up?" Vic asked as Carina spoke with Pruitt.

- "I'm fine, it's only been two days."

-"and you ... Retain..."

- "Vic... We're not animals! Still, we know how to restrain ourselves!"

- "You two? Together in an apartment, you're going to tell me that's not a torment?!"

- "well, okay, maybe that's why I wanted to get out too. But I missed her for so long and I thought I lost her. And I know what you're going to say to me before, blah blah blah, but before that we also lost each other a little bit, we didn't even live in the same time zone. And even before that we discovered each other... Sexually and mutually".

- "so you're telling me there's a logical explanation for your excessive sex life?!"

- "I don't know if you can say excessive."

- "Do you do it every time you see each other? Like you can't help it?"

- "uh, yeah I think we do it every time we see each other but we do other stuff too"

- "you are a sexaddict"

-"no we can't be called sex addicts, it's just us, with no one else, we don't fool around, we don't go on the internet to get laid, we don't masturbate and when she wasn't there I only did it to release the pressure and no one touched me. We like to do it, just the two of us, I don't know how to explain it but I tell her that I love her and she tells me but it's like those three little words, those seven letters, are insignificant compared to what we really feel. And so this is our way of expressing ourselves. It's unorthodox but it's us."

- "hey, it wasn't a criticism or a reproach. I know you've been through a lot. I'm just teasing you. But hey if I had your stamina I'd probably do the same thing. But guys need to 'get their strength back in the meantime'. I didn't think, honestly, that you'd make it through two days without doing it. "

Maya's smile and red cheeks betrayed her.

- "really?! But what about your arm?"

- "she didn't touch me, I didn't want to have to contract and everything... But yeah okay, you're right, I can't stay away from this woman. I had to get out of that apartment at the risk of tearing my stitches"

- "Are you okay bambina?" interrupted Carina

- "It's okay my love" she kissed the lips stretched towards her of her girlfriend.

-"You want to go, you want to rest?" Maya looked in Vic's direction begging her to do something so they wouldn't be alone.

- "Well, don't you want to stay again? I think she's fine. At least until our next intervention! And then look there's plenty of pastry left."

A 'thank you' had formed on Maya's lips.

- "Bambina?"

- "I agree with Vic at least until the next intervention, if you don't mind"
