For three weeks now, Carina had been giving group sessions for the youth in addition to her work. The number of participants was growing. Not everyone came to every meeting, but on average, just over fifteen people attended.

Even though it was only supportive, the kids were getting more and more relaxed during the meetings. The day before Halloween was the fourth session. Always on Tuesday evening.

-" Thank you Marsha for your intervention tonight "

- "Thank you, Carina, for letting me come and see these young people. An old lady like me must have scared them at first. But they saw that acceptance is not a matter of age or generation, you have to stop hiding behind these stupid ideas!" Carina laughed at her friend's vocabulary. "There have always been queer people! Abraham Lincoln himself was gay!"

-"Anyway... I filmed your speech. If you want to show your daughter all your nice words, I'll give you the link. I decided to film the outside speakers. I don't film the kids' faces, but I think it might be good for my project to go into the schools."

- "Maybe because I'm from this community, I want to help these kids. And maybe because your daughter is too, you want to help them. Our act could be judged as selfish behavior..."

-"If anyone dares to say that what you are doing is selfish, they will have to deal with me! You're helping these kids, on your own time. One hour a week, instead of spending it with your wife."

-" Carina, you will make a wonderful mother. You will probably be one of the most loving moms in the world. I can tell by the way you act with these kids."

-"You have to protect them from all prejudices. Let them be themselves from a young age. My biggest regret is that I didn't put my daughter in a position of trust, so that she could talk to me openly as soon as she felt 'different'. Because for me there is no difference. Humain with a capital H and sexualities are part of a spectrum where we are all randomly positioned. Nobody should feel different or abnormal. Because what is normality? Normal is boring! I love having people from different backgrounds around me, and even from different cultures, I think as a human being it's probably the thing that has made me evolve the most "

- "wow Marsha this is so beautiful. You'll definitely have to come back in another session. Where are you going to get all this?"

-"diversity Carina. And you are a part of it. It's the people who act like you did that motivate me to be the best version of myself every day."

- "but it was your idea"

- "an idea, I had indeed this idea, but who am I to put it into practice? I am HR! You had the ability to do it and you didn't have to and look where you are today. You just gave your fourth session. I'm proud of you."

-"Thank you, but you can't take my mind off of the fact that it's all because of you," she said, taking her friend in her arms. "I know you've been to see Dr. Grey."

- "me?!" she said falsely offended

- "yes, it may have slipped her mind.... She was so happy that several departments in the hospital wanted to make things happen."
