The day had been rather quiet at the barracks. In the morning Maya had a session with Dr. Lewis where she told her about the aftermath of Los Angeles. And how she had come to the conclusion that she had to finally and truly say goodbye to her brother. And how that had come about.

The rest of the day had been rather quiet, only small interventions. The house of a single woman had caught fire because of her faulty charger. Dean had been the man of the situation because he had saved Charlie, the small dog of this one. Andy and Maya were blasé because in the end, who had found and saved this woman, it was them. But they didn't do this job for the recognition of the victims or their admiration. They did it only to save their lives.

For her part, Carina had a rather busy day. She started with an interview with Dr. Grey. She had finally agreed to become a resident. She could continue to do freelance consultations outside the hospital. But given the schedule that Dr. Grey wanted to impose on her, she would have little free time if she wanted to continue to have a personal life.

Dr. Grey required her to be present between approximately 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. However, she could manage her hours within reason. She had just asked that she not finish after 5 p.m. on pre-scheduled dates so that she could continue to see as much of her partner as possible on her days off. On the other hand, she had all her weekends, except in exceptional cases. After that, she could continue her schedule as she wished, as she was already doing now. The salary had been negotiated upwards and the boss had accepted. She knew that Carina was appreciated within the establishment and with the patients.

Dr. Grey had been writing on a sheet of paper throughout the interview. Before leaving Carina, after being paged, she handed her a sheet of paper.

-" Here, go to HR and give them this, ask them if they can change your contract and sign it, please. Then you go to the accounting guy and tell him all the stuff you need, even if you want to change your desk or something. I want you to feel that you have decorated this office yourself, it's yours from now on. And you ask them to order you a plate with your name on it, it will be better than a printed sheet." she said as she walked towards the door. "Ah and Carina?" She paused. "Welcome officially to Grey+Sloan Memorial, you are now a full time part of the family!"

-" Thank you Dr. Grey!"

-" Call me Meredith" she said with a sincere smile. "Sorry, I really have to go. Close the door on your way out."

-" Thank you Meredith" she said in a hurry before seeing the Chief disappear.

Carina had gone to the human resources office with her paper. Several things were noted. 'Flat rate day', '7% salary increase', 'office and supplies' among others. - "Hi, excuse me, I'm from Dr. Grey."

-" Your name?"

-" DeLuca" She handed the sheet to the woman behind the desk.

-" oh but you're the little sexologist?" the older woman behind her desk looked up at Carina. "Though not so little." She added.

-"Yes," she said, embarrassed.

-" But it is true that you are beautiful as a heart "

- "thank you" she was now all red

- "but you're blushing, you must be used to compliments?!" she said more rhetorically. "Let's see these changes ... um... um... um... Dr. Grey must like you. She's made quite a few changes to the basic contract we're offering."

-"I have a little negotiation."

-"I want to believe you, but I don't think she disagreed too much. She's a lovely woman but she's pretty tough when it comes to certain things. And she gives you a lot of that."
