The day before the vacations

It had been a couple of weeks since Maya had attended one of Carina's sessions.

The two young women had decided to take the trip that Maya's parents had offered them for their birthdays, for Valentine's Day, a while ago and they had organized everything before the Christmas holidays.

What could be more romantic than to spend your lover's day on an island paradise?

The blonde was somewhat stressed about leaving the barracks a month and a half after taking over the reins, but Carina was a perfectly good excuse.

She had briefed Ripley, who was going to do acting for her. She had told him everything he had to do and everything he could leave her, for his return from vacation. Who to contact according to which emergency, and of course, she remained reachable in case of problem.

This last point had not particularly pleased her fiancée, who had hoped for a real break, a moment of total intimacy. But she knew the responsibilities that weighed on her and the fact that being a captain, a woman and young, her other colleagues of the same rank were not as appreciative as Lee, McCallister or Frankle. And that because of this she had to fight twice as hard to prove that she deserved her position.

Carina, was off today and as usual she was at the barracks. When she didn't have anything special to do or anyone to see, she liked to go there to spend time with her family.

Maya was away on a mission, so Carina was waiting in the TV room. She knew she didn't have long to wait.

- "Hi Leslie how are you?"

- "well and you? Future Madam Captain".

- "I'm fine thanks, you're not in intervention?"

- "no I'm at the roadside rescue with Ruiz, he's sleeping"

- "okay'!"

- "what are you looking at?"

- "a documentary about Hawaii"

- "ah yes, your... Travel"

-"Yes, I look around a bit to see if there are things to do, to see."

- "if I had a girlfriend like you, I wouldn't let her out of the hotel room"

- "even in Hawaii?! It must be so beautiful to visit, there's Pearl Harbor and Kauai, Maui, there's so much to see!"

- "yes, and you've been together for a long time... The sex is probably not the same as at the beggining".

Carina almost choked at this sentence.

-"You've been here for almost a month... And you think that? You don't talk with your colleagues?"

- "yes but they don't talk too much about you two, not in front of me anyway"

- "you know I'm a sexologist?"

- "and I also know that sometimes it's the people who talk about it the most... Who do it the least"

- "sometimes only"

- "so are you guys good?"

- "I marry her..."

- "you can marry her out of habit, maybe you love her out of habit"

- "Is that what happened to you? Didn't she love you anymore? Had it become a habit?"

-"I don't know what happened with her, but she left me for sure. But I got over it, I think I can find love, I changed city. A new resort..."

-"I hope you find. That you'll find someone who loves you like Maya and me."
