It had been three and a half months since Carina returned to Sicily. They were doing their best not to be totally depressed. Of course they spoke every day but being tactile towards each other, the distance was very complicated to manage.

Carina was with her friends at the shelter. She kept thinking about the last moments spent with her beloved. It was very difficult for her to concentrate on the surrounding conversations.

- "Carina? Hello" said Sam

- "Um sorry."

- "Where did you go?" asked Jack.

- "In Arizona what a question!" replied Travis

- "You know, we all miss her" smiled Dean.

- "It's torture, I don't know how I get up every morning, take a shower, put on real clothes instead of a jogging suit"

- "So for the shower, we already thank you!" laughed her twin "and for the outfit, imagine if she called you out of the blue, would you really want her to see you as a rag?"

- "No, I don't, but I don't want her to think I'm forgetting her either."

- "She knows you don't forget about her, just like you know she doesn't forget about you and you even hear from that girl Victoria, so you know she's drooling just as much."

- "And so why else did you pull me out of my reverie?"

- "On Saturday, Jo proposed us to have a beach day and a party, to celebrate the Easter vacations, are you in?" answered Sam

- "Um um why not, anyway Maya is leaving Friday night after school for a weekend in the wilderness with her stupid soldier class."

- "You don't seem to like it" she replied.

- "She is not allowed to use her phone, they leave Friday at 3pm and will not return until Sunday evening."

/Flashback/

Carina had arrived at the airport in Catania, her eyes were red and swollen, she had slept very little. It was late and she had to return to school the next day.

Maya was the first person she texted to tell her that the plane had landed. Her phone rang immediately, unfortunately it was her operator to wish her a safe return to Sicily.

Maya was probably in class if it was midnight here it was still 3pm in Arizona, Maya would have finished class by the time Carina got to the base.

Andrea had accompanied her parents to pick up Carina, and she was the first person she hugged. Her parents were not offended, they were aware of the strong bond that united their twins. The beautiful Italian girl was crying in her brother's arms, he was talking to her in Italian, trying to reassure her.

She then kissed her parents. When she arrived at the base, she sent a message to Maya, but fatigue and tears overcame her desire to have news of her beloved. Exceptionally, she had not set her alarm clock too early in order to get some sleep, as the time difference could be a real torture. To go and see Maya, the time difference had not been a problem, she had found all her energy, all her joy of living, but here, alone, without her heart, without her love, the time difference had the effect of a boomerang.

The first days had been the most difficult for the two young women. They had a hard time coordinating their agenda, especially because Carina was feeling extremely tired. These ten days had been intense and the return to reality quite insipid, which made her want to become a koala and sleep for 20 hours until she could talk with Maya.

She sometimes got up in the middle of the night to talk to Maya when it was early evening in Arizona. The other way around was more complicated because when the evening fell in Sicily, Maya was in class.
