The big vacations

It had been almost three months since they last saw each other. They had planned their big vacation during this time. Maya would arrive early in the morning on June 17 and leave on July 18.

They had agreed to go to Europe for three and a half weeks and stay at the base for a while. Their parents had to sign authorizations for them. Carina would be 18 years old on July 17 and Maya on August 26.

They had chosen their destinations together.
They were going to start in Athens, Berlin, Paris, Rome, Barcelona and finish in Porto, they had planned four days per city. And then return to Catania.

On Thursday at 11 am they had to go to the international airport of Eleftherios to reach Berlin, their second destination. They would be there until Sunday evening.

There again, several visits were planned. They had planned to go to the Berlin Wall, to Alexanderplatz and go shopping, to Pariser Platz to see the Brandenburg Gate, to take pictures of the Reishtag Palace and to go to the Holocaust Memorial, to spend an evening in Prenzlauer Berg, to go to the Checkpoint Chalie and stroll in the tourist stores, on Saturday they had been to the Berlin gaypride and on Sunday before taking the plane back to their next destination they had visited the Sachsenhausen concentration camp.
