Behavioral change

Carina felt bad about the night before. The next morning when the alarm went off, she immediately pulled herself away from Maya's arms. She was afraid to scare her away by blowing hot and cold.

She had gone first to the bathroom and then went to make breakfast, while Maya took her shower.

Maya had noticed this change in Carina's behavior.

- "Are you okay?" She asked as she sat down at the island.

- "Yes, and you slept well?"

- "with you always" which earned her just a smile from Carina. Just a smile, nothing else, no little inappropriate comment, no tongue passing over her lips... Nothing.

Maya had thought that maybe she was stressed about her recovery.

During the day she had received very few messages from the Italian. But no wonder she had plenty of consultation and had planned to go to eat with Sam and Andrea afterwards.

No message in the evening either. Just a message that she had come home and was going to bed.

The next morning, Maya could not go to Carina's house, not like the last three weeks. By the time she got to the Italian woman's house, she would have been at work.

She decided to take advantage of this to go home and rest.
When she woke up at 2 p.m., she had received very few messages. So she asked Carina if she was available after work.
She replied that she would finish late. Not until 9pm. But Maya needed to see her. It wasn't that she wanted to, she needed to.

She had proposed to Carina to come and eat at her place. As Andy was not there tonight.

At 9:10pm she rang the intercom.
And went up the stairs as soon as the door opened.

It was easy to ignore Maya, or at least let her breathe when she wasn't in the same room, but the sad look on her face when she opened the door was a real issue for the Italian.

- "Maya" she smiled and hugged the blonde, a little too long. "I missed you."

- "I missed you too"

- "It smells good, what did you cook? I'm starving".

- "I made a chicken tagine with lemon"

- "ah yes you really cook!"

- "I had some time to kill today, so this is a first one we'll see. I got burned three times, so I hope it's good."

- "you didn't have to go to all this trouble for me"

-"I'll go get the stars if you ask me to" she said, looking into her eyes. "Damn but that's it! Your necklace! Is it the star one?!"

Carina put her hand where the necklace usually was, but not today. She had put on another one, the one with the pendant and the infinity.

- "You've been looking for three weeks?" she laughed.

- "something like this"

This made the two young women laugh.

Maya served the two girls, with a glass of wine.

They chatted during the meal. Maya told of procedures she had the day before and Carina of cases she had seen in the emergency room. Some were the same patients.

- "do you want to watch some TV?"

- "yes, but not for long, then I have to go back"

- "You really need to make a bag to put in your car. Or clothes here. I don't like sleeping without you if I'm not at the firehouse."
