On Wednesday morning the two women went to the airport at 6:00 am. They had a 6:40 hours flight and would arrive in Honolulu at 11:40 a.m. local time, the flight being at 7 a.m. with a time difference of two hours.
Since Carina had a green card, they did not need to arrive at the airport two hours before takeoff.
- "we're going on vacation, we're going on vacation, we're going, we're going, we're going on vacation" had sung Carina from the alarm clock to the boarding.
Once on the plane they remembered their last trip that involved going to an airport and it seemed like a long time ago, almost a year ago, and yet that trip had meant so much to them. Maya had proposed, and now 11 months later, they had practically planned everything and were on their way to an unforgettable vacation.
- "are you willing to give up your captain's hat for ten days?"
- "It's going to be a long time..."
- "thank you for me"
- "It's not spending ten days with you that's going to be long. It's not knowing for ten days what's going on out there. I haven't even been a captain for two months and I'm flying to an island 4,300 kilometers from home, 2,600 miles. That's a lot. I can't get back in an hour's drive if anything happens."
- "There's Pruitt, there's Ripley, there's Chief McCallister and Chief Frankle, I think between the four of them they can handle a situation if anything happens. There are fires and accidents in every country in the world, every minute of every hour, and you're not there for every one of them. You are an excellent captain Maya, but you will not solve all the incidents of the earth by yourself, others are there. However, for me there is only one Maya Bishop, there is only one bride, so right now I need you more than any station."
-"Only you can show me how stupid my fears are sometimes. Indeed I am not the only captain in the world, nor the only firefighter".
- "but you're the only fiancée I have in stock that I want, so for these ten days, no more fire science, no more pulling or running. The only sport you'll be allowed to do will be the one that makes us both sweat and preferably naked. The only fire you will be allowed to feed or put out will be the one you cause me and the only injuries you will be able to heal will be the ones caused by your nails on my body."
- "How do you make every word that comes out of your mouth sexier than the previous one?" She asked as she leaned over the armrest to come and kiss her fiancée.
