Chapter 34:
Revi's POV:
Nang makarating kami sa bahay nila Yñigo, I went instantly pale. I think I'm going to vomit any moment. My insides are turning upside down nang maramdaman ko ang pisil sa kamay ko. Then I remember Percy holding my hand the whole ride at hanggang ngayon na nasa front door na kami ng bahay nila Yñigo. It was big, but not as big as our house. In between it's saying that they're rich but humble. Something like that ... hindi ka kasi maiintimidate, it feels homey. Like there was nothing to be afraid of, and I wish that's true. Pero, shit lang ....
"Please don't do this to me?" Pinakitaan ko ng nagmamakaawang itsura si Percy.
Hindi pa kasi ako prepared in any aspects. Ayoko namang magmukhang tanga at walang pinag-aralan sa magulang ni Yñigo. Feeling ko hindi ako makakapagsalita kung gagawin namin 'to. But all I get from Percy was a smirk before he pulled me inside.
"I hope tita baked cookies. The last time na pumunta ako dito, gumawa siya nun! Ang tagal na rin nun, naaalala pa kaya niya?" Nagpout pa si Hera na parang nagtatampo. I gave her a questioning look and she rolled her eyes before she explained, "There's this thing called bro code. One of it is to never let a girl hang out with them kapag magkakasama silang tatlo."
Hindi ko maiwasang mapairap. Mas maaarte pa talaga ang mga lalaki kesa babae! Ang daming pauso ...
"Maging totoo ka lang sa sarili mo. Ayan na si tita." I instantly froze dahil sa binulong ni Percy.
Pakiramdam ko biglang umilaw ang imaginary emergency light sa ulo ko, it sends panic through out my body I almost collapsed, buti na lang at nasa likod ko malapit si Percy at hawak ang kamay ko to steady me.
"Relax." He whispered and I forced myself to take deep breaths.
"Hi tita!" Hera squealed before she ran to Yñigo's mom. Nakangiti naman sakanya ito at binuksan ang mga braso para salubungin ng yakap si Hera.
"Hi! Buti at nakadalaw kayo?" Tiningnan niya kami, I nervously smiled back at her.
Binitawan ni Percy ang kamay ko at dun ko lang narealize how badly I need someone to support me. I almost complained but held myself to avoid embarrassment.
"Dapat ganyan ka rin ka-excited pag pinakilala kita kay Mama, ha?" I heard Edison said to Hera nang makalapit siya sa dalawa before she gave Yñigo's mom a kiss on the cheek. "Si Yoshi boy, tita Ysah?"
"Pababa na naliligo lang yun. Upo muna kayo dun sa sala. I baked lasagna I hope everyone's up for it." Lumapit sakanya si Percy at humalik din.
I've never seen Percy so .... serene like that. The way he looked at Yñigo's mom as if it's her own Mom. Pati na rin yung paghalik niya sa pisngi nito at yung ngiti. A genuine smile. He adored her.
"You look good, Percy." Tita gave her a sharp teasing look. "Hindi amoy usok ha, that's good."
Percy let out a small chuckle and I found myself smiling which quickly vanished when tita's stare linger at me.
"Hi ― what's your name again, hija?"
"R-Revi po." I held both my hands in front of me, slightly fidgeting when I realized that it will make me look stupid and diffident so I forced myself to straighten up and smile.
Ngumiti siya sakin at lumapit. I was surprised when she engulfed me with a warm big hug and I suddenly found myself patting her awkwardly on her back.
"Nice to meet you, treat our house as your own ..." When she let go of me she searched my face, and I suddenly felt conscious. "Parang narinig ko na ang pangalan mo, hindi ko lang alam kung saan."
