It was silent.

Too silent...

I couldn't even hear my own breathing nor the sound of my usual struggling heartbeat. It was peaceful here. I quite liked the silence. But where was 'here'? It took a while to convince my eyes to open but once I did, I couldn't help but gasp at the sight around me. I was sat directly in the middle of a red ocean.

The sky was black yet there was still light- a spotlight pointed directly above me. The floor was liquid yet it was solid- it confused me. Nothing made sense here yet it felt so much like home. I didn't understand it and yet I fully comprehended it. It all seemed familiar despite the fact that I've never been here before. Was this what hell looks like? An isolated dimension where I was to spend eternity alone?

Looking down, I wanted to see what it was that was actually sitting on. And the moment my eyes fell to my lap, I gasped. My eyes widened in panic after seeing that I was perched ontop of large skeleton. I noticed that I was sat on the edge of it's collarbone, my legs hanging off the edge. What was this? Was this an actual skeleton? Was it mine?

Wanting to get a better look at, I began climbing down with both disbelief and curiousity in my eyes. I used each bone of the ribcage as a ladder as I descended, trying not to become nervous as I climbed down. Once I had reached the bottom, I hesitantly placed a foot on the solid ocean floor. Although in my soul I knew it was solid, my mind was doubtful. But alas it was true, I almost couldn't believe my eyes as I placed a foot on it, walking on water. It felt so surreal.

And now that I was on solid ground, I could finally walk around and see just exactly where I was. So with that thought in mind, I set off in a sprint and ran as far as I could in a random direction. I had completely forgotten about getting a better look at the skeleton, now feeling the need to run far away- to find my way out. But the more I ran, the darker everything became and the more bare my surroundings seemed.

In a way, it felt cathartic in a way to run like this, no longer held back by the boundaries of what my heart could and couldn't take. I felt no pain as I ran and I wanted to badly to smile at this fact. But I couldn't, because the longer I ran, the more it dawned upon me that I was truly alone in this dimension.

"Sukuna!" I yelled loudly as I ran, fear evident in my voice as I screamed. It was foolish of me to even think that Sukuna would just answer me or even hear me. But I was scared and it was only him that I wanted to be with right now. And he was clearly not here.
"Hello?! Anybody?!" I screamed shakily, now slowing down my run and halting in the middle of knowhere. I fell to my knees in tears, unconsciously clutching my heart as I did so, despite being in no pain.

But then I stopped. I stopped because that action felt familliar...And just like unraveling a sealed scroll, I remembered it all. One by one each event of my last day on earth dawned upon me and I remembered what had happened and why I was here. I was dead. Cries and whimpers left my lips before I could even cover my mouth with my trembling hands. Was I really dead? Was I stuck in this place for the rest of eternity?

I shook my head in denial and forced determination as I made my self stand up onto my feet. Then I lightly ran my way back to the sitting skeleton, wondering if there was something that I had missed. Only now as I stood directly infront of the skeleton, I realised how big it truly was. And it was only now that my eyes registered the giant heart beating inside the ribcage.

It gave this place a red glow, the dimension going brighter and darker with every heartbeat. The heart looked healthy and strong, nothing like how I imagined my heart to look like. And though I felt as if this heart was familiar, I knew it was not mine.

I just couldn't understand it all. Why was this here? Why was it practically begging me to get closer? I gave in to it's demands and hesitantly stepped closer to it- so close that I could reach through the spaces in between the ribs to touch it. But before I could attempt to do so, the ribcage split from the middle and opened up infront of me. It created a direct path to get to the heart. The bones formed steps before my feet, almost as if it was demanding me step on it.

So I followed my instincts, stepping on each step to get as close as possible to this heart. And once I reached the top, I stared softly at the heart. It was now that I realised that this heart looked and felt so familiar, the evil black swirls that danced across the arteries told me more then I needed. I couldn't help but smile brightly at the patch of inoccent white that was at the corner of this heart, growing ever so slightly the more I stared. It was beautiful.

So I placed my delicate hand on it, holding on to it and cradling it just as I would hold onto my lover's cheek before whispering with a sad smile,

"Sukuna."

Just with that one word coming out of my mouth, power flowed through me. It filled me up the the brim. The cursed energy I was absorbing felt surreal. I closed my eyes at the feeling and unconsiously began falling back. But I didn't fall onto the oceans surface- no. I fell through the water. I couldn't describe the pleasure I was feeling as I fell but as my falling got faster, the feelings became more intense.

And once it all became too much to bare, my eyes opened.
