¤ (Y/n)'s Point Of View ¤
"Your whole life! Your whole life I've done nothing but protect you! I've prolonged your life for so long and this is how you repay me!?" My father yelled angrily, my mother and sister timidly standing behind him as he paced around his throne room. This has been going on for an hour, an hour of him yelling out curses and scoldings towards me. It was a wonder to me how he has not lost his voice yet.
This 'talk' has been going on from the moment the man had stepped out of the carriage to the moment we arrived back at the castle, the rest of my family somehow already aware of the commotion before we even walked through the door. And now here I stood in his throne room, silently standing before him with my head laying low. Toru stood behind me confidently, as well as the rest of his squadron in waiting.
"I've given you everything! From medicine and servants to unreasonably expensive exotic teas- and you betray ny kindness with this- this treason?!" The emperor yelled, his words so loud that I could practically feel the sound waves as they brushed past my cheeks.
"I'm sorry, father." I whispered back, my words as timid as the guilty look on my face. And though I may look guilty- and I certainly was- I did not regret my actions. I will never regret my actions nor the actions I take in the furture because in the end it's my life, and I'll end it how I wish."How long has this been going on?" The man asked, his voice laced with venom as he stood a mere step away from me. He was so close that I could hear his angered heavy breathing and literally see his veins bulging from his forehead. This interrogation had been going on for an hour and by now I just wanted it to stop. I wanted to be able to explain myself, to tell him just exactly how I've been feeling on the inside despite my endless smiles.
"Father, if you could jus-" My attempt at explaining myself was almost instantly cut off by him, seeming as if his inquiry was far more important than what I had to say. It was then that I realised that he did not care for what I had to tell him.
"How long?!" He yelled, cutting me off in such a sudden yell that I flinched back.
"7 months..." I mumbled, my voice sounding defeated as I once again let my head droop down to stare at my feet. The emperor scoffed in disbelief at this new piece of information, throwing his head back with a huff as he held his temple due to the migrane that he was feeling. He clearly couldn't believe that I had been keeping something so vital from him for so long- that I was doing something so dangerous right under his nose and he hadn't noticed at all.
"Who's been helping you?" The man then asked, turning back to me with dark eyes.I looked up in fear after processing his words, tears prickling at the corners of my eyes as I instantly recognised the dark eyed look that he gave me. My father was out for blood.
"W-what?" I whispered out, feigning ignorance as I hoped that he wasn't thinking what I thought he was thinking.
"Tell me the names of everyone who has helped you escape so that they can be punished." My father growled, my heart painfully squeezing in fear as he spoke."Was it Toru? Hinamori? Sero? Murashi? All of them? Tell me." My father seethed through gritted teeth, intimidatingly standing above me with black eyes. Shaking my head pathetically, I took a step back in fear. Though nobody has actually helped me, almost every servant in the castle was aware that I've been escaping. But I have sworn them all to secrecy. Not speaking about something as important as the princess escaping was practically treason to my father. They'd all be killed or imprisoned. I couldn't let that happen.
"Nobody helped me." I tried to say confidently, my shaking voice definitely not helping my case at hand.
"You expect me to believe that you've been sneaking out with no help at all? Don't make me laugh, (Y/n)!" My father scoffed, his patience clearly running thin with me. I would fear him, but I know that he would never lay a hand on me. The workers in our castle, however? That was a different story.
