Hello Hello Hello! Welcome back and sorry for the long wait.

The week quickly passed, and Adora was eager to see Catra.

Adora felt guilty over the situation. Sure, Catra reacted very harshly to her and Scorpia's jokes, but after all these years, Adora should have predicted how Catra would react. They had certainly known each other long enough, and so this situation was (mostly) her fault.

She and Catra texted minimally over the next few days. They did, however, plan to go laser tagging. Glimmer had mentioned laser tag earlier in the week, so Adora figured that she could invite Catra along. Hopefully they could find time alone to talk.

In the meantime, she did what she did best: Homework.

"How are you almost finished?" Glimmer gestured vaguely to the five pages of calculus questions that Adora laid on the table. On her lap was a textbook, and Adora, reading from the book, barely registered Glimmer was there. Glimmer nudged her side, startling Adora. "That's a foreign language," she said.

Brightmoon High had no cafeteria. Instead, Adora and her friends sat in Mrs. Huntara's class. Huntara allowed them to rearrange classroom furniture with the expectation that they'll move everything back by the end of lunch.

Six desks were placed side-by-side, turning into a rectangular table. Of those desks, five people were seated.

Mermista and Seahawk sat side by side, Mermista and Seahawk both digging a shared tuna salad.

An earbud was in-Mermista was probably listening to a true crime podcast or youtube video. Her head was down as she ate, and she barely glanced at Seahawk, who was glancing over at her from time to time as he chewed.

And Seahawk wasn't the only one looking over.

Beside Mermista sat Frosta. She flicked ice cubes around, trying to push them between her desk and mermista's. Mermista shoved her food as far away from Frosta as possible, glaring when the ice melted and dropped onto the floor.

"You're getting ice all over my stuff." Mermista shoved her food onto her chair while Seahawk frantically wiped at the table. Water dropped on Mermista's jeans, so she wiped at them, groaning. "Why do I sit here again?"

Frosta shrugged. "You did it to yourself when you sat here." Frosta threw her cubes into the garbage, though. After a moment, she asked, "do you have a spare pair of pants?"

Adora presented the paper towel to the group, holding it like a trophy. "I found it!"

Mermista raised an eyebrow. "Are you gonna use that or..."

"Right." Adora wiped the table, leaving extra paper towels for others to help. Frosta, now red in the cheeks, grabbed a paper.

"How did you even find ice cubes in the first place?" Mermista asked, and Frosta shrugged.

"There's freezers in the home ec room."

"I guess you're right," Seahawk said. "Do you think I could start a fire there-"

"Nope, we're not starting this conversation." Mermista placed a finger on his lip. "Don't."

"I could start a small one, and there's be sokewhere to store water in case-"

"No." Everyone said in unison.

After a moment of silence, Glimmer cleared her throat. "Well, now that we're done with that." Glimmer chewed the inside of her cheeks. "Adora and I were actually wondering if you guys would be up for Laser tag?"

"Sure," said Frosta, without thinking. Everyone else, however, kept their mouths shut. Glimmer cleared her throat.

The room fell into awkward silence. After a moment of shifting seating positions and avoiding Adoras gaze, Adora put her hands on her hips. "Is something up?"
