"Why you gotta play so much?" Emoni fussed, stomping her feet like a big ass kid. She held her hand out and I just looked at her "can I get the key?"
"No. And that whining shit don't work with me. I ain soft like Dre"
"Don't talk shit about my brother while he ain here to defend himself. I'll beat yo ass bout him"
"And that's why you ain getting the extra key to his house"
"Darius stop playingggg. Give me the damn key"
"Ouuuuu" king said from the couch he was sitting on, grinning and emoni looked past me into my house
"Why you not at school?"
"Bad ass got sent home so he in trouble. And you ain't supposed to be talking"
He sat back against the chair and looked down at the book he was supposed to be reading and emoni shook her head
"You so mean to my nephew"
I looked her up and down "Ain nobody mean. I'm not about to sit here and smile and laugh with him and he got sent home from school. He bout to sit there and read. If he think he old enough to disrespect his teacher knowing it's wrong then he old enough to suffer the consequences of the shit do"
"Darius you used to get in trouble in school"
"And look at what that got me"

I kissed my teeth while she laughed
"See, now you ain't getting the key"
"Stop being stupid. Give me the key to my brother house"
"You don't deserve it"
"Yes I do. You the one that don't deserve it"
"Well why I gotta key and you don't"
She crossed her arms and looked past me again
"Trin!"
Trin walked through the living room rubbing her eyes half asleep and melody walked behind her with her cup in her hand. Trin stopped and looked over at me and emoni while melody went and sat with king
"Good morning" she told us and we both looked at her confused
I looked down at my watch then over at trin "it's 2 in the afternoon"
"How? It was just 7 in the morning. And I laid back down to take a 30 minute nap"
"Well that 30 minutes turned to 7 hours cause you OVER slept"
"Oh damn" trin blinked, looking around seeing king "hey king"
When she realized it was king she was talking to she paused and looked back at him "king? Whatchu doing here?"
"I got sent home"
She shook her head and headed to the kitchen
"So can I get the key?"
"Whatchu need it for?"
"My brother said I can stay over there while they gone"
"For what?"
"So I can have peace and quiet"
"You gotta room at home. Go to it"
"Momma plan on spring cleaning this weekend"
"Oh. Damn"
"What's wrong with spring cleaning?" Trin asked as she came over to the door
"Cause momma clean HER way and if you don't do it right, she fusses and tell you to stop. If you stop she'll fuss about you not helping and tell you to just leave. She move the furniture around, bleaching shit, dusting off every single piece of shit she got, she gotta 3 stage process of washing the walls and baseboards, she shampoos the carpets, put up new pictures, empty and restock the fridge and cabinets and that's just the least of it. Plus she keep that same 90's early 'oo playlist on repeat the entire weekend" emoni described
