The afternoon sun was bright and warm, the color of bee honey, and its rays were strong, making the day more beautiful. The weather was sunny and the sun had no desire to hide behind the clouds.
A light breeze made it more pleasant to be outside without being too hot. That wind brought with it the many smells coming from the market on the other street.
In the middle of the campus and in the park near the college two adults were standing by the old tree that had been there for many years, probably older than both of them.
The white haired boy was leaning against the thick trunk of the tree, looking at the blue eyed girl standing in front of him who was talking to him about what she had done that day at college.
Neither of them know how they got into this kind of discussion, but Mikey knows that he was the one who initiated it, asking her how she was feeling that day.
The girl began by telling him what she did after she got home, telling him how she couldn't sleep much, avoiding the thoughts she'd been having about them.
And after she started telling him about her nightly routine, the girl went on to tell him what she had done that day as well. Mikey listened, letting her talk without interrupting, nodding every time she looked at him.
Although he didn't look like it, he was really paying attention, listening to every thing the girl said, trying to get rid of the regret that had formed in his stomach when he heard about her bad day.
Most of her problems were because of him, maybe if he hadn't talked to her in the first place none of this would have happened.
But he didn't voice those thoughts out loud, he didn't want to interrupt her and he didn't want to make her upset because of what he was thinking.
Mikey looked at the girl's face, noticing that when she was angry about something small wrinkles formed between her eyebrows, and when she was happy her eyes lit up.
Emma had been the same, maybe a lot more expressive than Senju, but there was still something similar in the twinkle they both had.
He was enjoying that warm look, which he hadn't seen in a long time. That was one of the longest conversations he'd had with anyone, if you could call them that.
Generally people agree with him on everything and talk more than necessary when they have something to explain.
Bottom line no one was talking to him about their personal problems or what they did that day, it's not like he wants to listen to that when he has much better things to do.
But the girl in front of him who was constantly talking was an exception, the only exception he could accept. He continued to watch her, her pink lips moving slowly as she continued to tell.
After a while the girl started waving her hands too, gesticulating and saying how it wasn't fair that her biology teacher gave them a test.
He let a small laugh escape his lips, and the sound didn't go unnoticed as the girl glared at him for a moment, then gave him a playful look and continued on with her story.
She also talked about her friend, whose name seemed somehow familiar to him, as if it had been mentioned before.
But he didn't ask anything about the girl's friend, he wasn't interested in people he didn't know. He also listened to the girl's little fears that she has for her friend, and as far as Mikey could tell a guy who was more than a friend to the brunette hurt her feelings.
When she was done talking Senju sighed, feeling better after unloading her problems, feeling even better now that she had someone to share them with.
Now that she had nothing left to say silence fell over them again, the girl was playing with her drawing folder trying to think of what to say next.
