77. Sulking Kitten

A few days passed and Jennie was home now. We found the car that hit Jennie in a really bad condition. It looked like after running away from the scene, the car got in another accident.

What irritated Lisa the most is that they still couldn't find who was behind the wheels. It was like a ghost was driving the car because no one was inside after the accident. Her team is checking the car for anything fingerprint, documents, any clue that can help them. But still nothing.

It had a fake number plate. They can only say that it belonged to someone rich and powerful because it was an expensive BMW model.

LALISA MANOBAN

I don't want to leave Jennie alone for even a second. I have been carrying my laptop and working in her hospital room. But now the Kims insisted on taking Jennie to their mansion. They asked me to stay there too but I don't want to be a burden on them.

I followed Jisoo's car to their mansion. It will be my first time visiting here. It was almost 30 minute drive from my company and the best part only 20 minutes away from my apartment. Not too far. I can visit Jennie anytime.

My kitten was sulking beside me. Why? Because she don't want to stay here, her grandparents are here and I'm not helping her get out of this situation. She's not even looking in my direction.

FLASHBACK

"But I want to go home. My home." Jennie whined in front of her parents and Lisa.

"Our home is your home too." Mr. Kim countered raising an eyebrow. Jennie knew it was a petty excuse.

"Lisa will not be there." Jennie said with a pout. It was not a petty excuse, she was actually sad to stay away from Lisa. She's used to having Lisa close to her.

"Lisa can stay with us too." Mrs. Kim said nodding. "It's actually a great idea. We can get to know her better. She will eventually be our daughter in-law." Mr. Kim said wiggling his eyebrows.

"Dadddd" Jennie shouted blushing. She looked at Lisa who was also blushing looking at her shoes.

Mr. Kim raised his hand in surrender, not removing the teasing smile from his face.

"I still want to go to my home. She will be uncomfortable there." Jennie said and gave Lisa her puppy eyes to get some support. On the other hand Mrs. Kim knew about her daughter's trick and she was also convincing Lisa to speak for their side by looking at her too.

"Why are you both looking at me." Lisa said nervously looking at the Kim women one by one. They both looked at each other and glared with their cat eyes.

"All the best daughter in-law." Mr. Kim said already making his way out of the room. Lisa looked at him retreat in disbelief.

"I-I think we should go home." Lisa said. Both Jennie are her mom cheered thinking Lisa is talking about their home. They again looked at each other glaring.

"Explain" both of them said together. Definately they are mother and daughter, lisa thought.

"Umm..I can't let Mr. Kim and Jisoo do all the work alone so I will have to go to the office soon." Lisa didn't look at Jennie as she continued, "It's better if you stay with your mom for a while. There are other people too who can take care of you there."

Mrs. Kim celebrated and hugged Lisa mumbling compliments about having the best daughter in-law. Even though Lisa was scared of Jennie's reaction, she still blushed.

LALISA MANOBAN

Once we reached the mansion I quickly went out to open her door, I tried to help her get out but she just glared at me. I just stayed close to her in case she need me.

Did I tell you she can walk with the help of crutches now? Her right knee is still swollen a little but she can walk without much pain. Her therapist will be visiting the Kim mansion twice a week for her therapy.

We had lunch before I helped Jennie climb the stairs for her room even though she resisted, she still needs assistance for climbing stairs or any elevated surface.

Jennie did not even acknowledge my presence since we left the hospital. Not even while eating. I sighed when she went straight in the bathroom not even looking back at me as we enter her room.

I just busied myself by looking around her old room. It's my first time here and this room is so not Jennie. There are no musical instruments, no trophies, no vinyl collections. The only thing that can match her personality is the colour of her room, pink.

I was looking at the only picture hanged on the wall. It was a family portrait from when Jennie was around 5-6 years.

I was so engrossed in that picture that I didn't notice Jennie coming out from the bathroom.

She was already wearing her comfortable pajamas and lying on the bed lazily when she called me. "Don't you have work to do in your office?"

I can hear the sarcasm in her voice. She still don't accept my excuse for letting her stay here. Well it's not totally true. Yes I have work and I don't want to burden Mr. kim and Jisoo, but also I have a promise to keep and this is my first step to get Jennie and grandpa shino closer.
