78. LM's Layer

I already found out that Jennie was Lisa's girlfriend. I might have asked someone to find Lisa's girlfriend identity. Call me obsessive or stalker but I was just curious. You can't expect me to wait for Lisa to introduce us.

I was happy to know about Jennie and Lisa's relationship is an understatement, I was ecstatic because Thomas and mine dream can still come true.

I wanted to see Jennie when I heard about the accident but I just couldn't muster the courage to see any of my children or grandchildren in that condition.

When Sandara told me that Jennie is staying here in Kim's Mansion calmed me a little. I can see if Jennie is okay or not myself, instead of hiring someone to inform me about her.

I saw her enjoying her lunch with everyone. I saw how tired she looked from everything that happened. I saw how Lisa took care of her, she was so attentive to all her needs even though it's written all over their faces that they are in the middle of a couple's quarrel.

In the middle of everything, she didn't look me in the eye. Not even once. I know about our differences and since she will stay here maybe we can understand each other.

I bumped into Lisa when she was coming downstairs after helping Jennie to go to her room. She was sulking like a kid who didn't get her favourite candy, murmuring incoherent words under her breath. Maybe Jennie kicked her out.

She smiled once she noticed me and greeted me.

"Why don't you stay here?" I asked. She rejected our offer to stay here during dinner. She scratched her nape shyly and joked, "I don't want to add the trouble. Jennie will do that for the both of us. She gets mood swings when she is not well."

I laughed slightly. "That's why you're running away?"

"That and I know she will be safe here. There are more people to take care of her here."

I smiled at her answer. "I was right. Your girlfriend is really lucky to have you and I'm glad she happens to be Jennie." I saw how she got shy all of a sudden and started shifting on her feets.

"I'm sorry I had to hide her identity from you."

Oh that. I don't mind it but let's have some fun teasing this big baby. All kids act like this when they are caught doing something wrong, no matter if they are the CEO of the biggest company in Korea.

"I'm disappointed Lisa. I thought we were closer than that." I acted like I was really disappointed.

"I-I Umm N-No... It's not like th-that." She stuttered alot.

"Did you think I'll not approve?" Her eyes widen and the look of horror on her face was priceless. I couldn't hold my laughter at that moment. I laughed hard looking at her expressions. She looked at me weirdly for a second before relaxing knowing that I'm just joking.

"It's okay kiddo. You're off the hook this time."

LALISA MANOBAN

After talking with Grandpa Shino for a while, I took my leave and went to my office.

I haven't visited the headquarters since my identity is revealed. A few pictures of Jennie and me in the hospital was shared by some patients or their family members. Other than that not one reporter was allowed inside. James did a good job securing the hospital and the headquarters.

Good thing I don't have to wear a mask while going there anymore. Like right now, I just walked straight without mask towards the elevator that takes me directly to the private room in my office. The employees that saw me in lobby were shocked to say the least.

My secretary was already waiting for me in the office. She told me about what's going on in the company and that all the documents that needed my attention were already sent to my email. I'm already done with those documents anyway.

I just nodded in acknowledgement. "I have to do some important work. So don't let anyone in." I told her.

Once she went outside I went inside my private room and I got inside the elevator.

"KIA. Take me to the Layer.", I said. The elevator started moving. KIA or Know-It-All the AI my biological father created. I am the only one who can access it other than my father.

The door of my private room was locked as I gave this command. No one can use the private elevator too as this room is in a complete lockdown.

I spent years to study KIA when I was home schooled. Through my father's notes and my personal research, I was able to recreate it with more functions than before. I had 3 control panel for KIA, first and the biggest in our global headquarter in Thailand and my apartment in Bangkok and the last in the headquarter of Korea.

Now I am going to the underground control panel or what I refer it to as 'LAYER', Because it is my layer. No one even knows about it except me and my parents of course. And if you think about the labour who constructed it, well they were not humans but 3 robots that again my biological father created. I just fixed them a little and added one additional chip so I can control them by KIA.

"Hey KIA, long time no see." I said as I walked through the hallway into the Layer. I haven't visited the control panel in a long time.

"Hello LM" She said. Did I tell you that KIA handles all the Brüschweilers publicity? My parents identity is hidden thanks to KIA. She is programmed to access all the public camera's and remove or manipulate the footage where their faces are revealed.

To access someone's phone I have to come down in the Layer to give the command personally. It is illegal enough by using the public camera's and government records for our personal gain.
