Chapter 42- Day off? maybe not

Ava stretched out on the bed, spotting Connor still asleep next to her. Ava rolled over, it's was only 7.35am, barely a lie in but Ava's body clock wanted her up. Ava sat up in the bed and adjusted her pyjamas. She brushed Connors hair off his forehead, he sleepily reach a hand out and placed it on her thigh. Ava leaned down and kissed his forehead, slipping off the bed. Ava showered and cleaned up the apartment, putting on a load of laundry. Ava made some avacado toast with tomatoes for herself, she ate it stood at the breakfast bar, checking the news.

Strong arms wrapped around her from behind and Ava knew who it was, smiling as she swallowed her toast.
"My girl" Connors began kissing her back, running his hands through her long hair.
"I thought you'd never get up, and I wasn't even keeping you up this time" she teased him.
"Mhm" Connor hummed, running his hands down her arms.
"Any plans for the day off?" He asked, burrying his face in her neck.
"Christmas sales shopping" she placed her hands onto of Connors ones crossed on her stomach.
Connor mumbled unhappily, "come back to bed first"
"Connor" Ava started.
"C'mon, we don't have another day off this year, we're even working on New Years Eve"
"Come to bed with me, Avery" he whispered, kissing just under her ear.
Ava groaned, "Fine, but only for a little bit"
Connor smiled against her neck in success Connor wrapped his arms around her, scooping her up in his arms.
"Connor!" She laughed as Connor carried her back to bed. He gently laid her back on the bed, brushing her hair out of her face.
"My girl" he smiled, brushing his lips against hers.

Ava shrugged her cape back onto her shoulders, flipping her hair out from under it she left her bed for the second time. Ava pulled on a pair of jeans and a jumper, running a hand through her tangled hair. She turned around, seeing Connor watching her from the bed.
"Come on, get up or I'm leaving without you" she told him.
"Do we have to go?"
"Fine, you stay here and I'll go shopping." Ava began to walk out of the room, leaning against the doorframe.
"You I think it's time I get some new bras" she said thoughtfully, running her bra strap between her fingers before turning on her heel. Ava head a fumble behind her as Connor sprang out of bed.
"You know I can see the benefit of going to the mall actually" he caught up to her, wrapping his arms around her once more.

"Get dressed" she told him, placing a hand back in his hip.
"Yes, honey" he kissed her neck before turning around.
"Honey?" Ava questioned, turning to watch him go.
Connor walked back up to her, taking her face in his two hands he kissed her, "honey"
He kissed her nose, "of would you prefer darling? Sweetheart, Pumpkin, Princess?"
"I'm indifferent" she told him, glancing to his lips that were still close to hers.
"Get ready, darling" he leaned in to whispered into her ear.
A shiver ran down Ava's spine as she stood their stunned for a moment at his words before realising that he was the one that needed to get ready, not her.

Ava packed her purse and slipped on her winter jacket, clipping up her hair. Connor came out in a clean pair of jeans and hoodie, smoothing the fabric over his torso.
"Nice too see you got ready, liefling" (*darling) Ava leaned up to kiss him.
"Liefling?" He pulled back, still keeping her in his arms.
Ava blushes slightly, "Darling. In Afrikaans"
Connor smiled, "you haven't spoke Afrikaans to me in a while"
"You should do it more often, I like it" he brushed a loose strand of hair from her face, kissing her lightly.
"Okey, lets go now, or we'll never leave" she practically pulled him out of the apartment.
Connor wrapped and arm around Ava's waist as they stepped into the cold.
"My umfana wezinkomo" Ava snuggles into his side, placing a hand on his chest. (*a cowboy)
"Care to translate Mrs. Bekker?" Connor brush's some snow from Ava's hair.
Ava catches the collar of his jacket, "my cowboy" she brings her cold lips to his warm ones. Connor opened the car door for Ava and she thanked him, he got in and turned on the heating, driving to their destination.
