Jay came early the next morning to drive Ava to her next motel, thankfully with Hailey in the passenger seat. Jay jumped out of the car to do a quick sweep of the room to make sure Ava had everything incriminating. While he was gone haliey bent her arm back through the gap in the seats, opening and closing her hand. Ava slid her hand into Hailey's and laced their fingers together, leaning her head against the back of haileys seat. Jay got back into the car and saw Hailey with her hand stretched back. He spotted their joint hands but didn't say anything, only started the engine and pulled out of the car park.
The motel that she was brought to was much nicer then the last one. The rooms were beach themed with blue walls and nautical decor. The bed was much less springier and the bathroom was larger. It was nice, even if it was only until Hank decided what to do. Jay set her duffle bag of clothes down on her bed.
"Hanks on his way over" Jay nodded and Ava pursed her lips into a weak smile.
"What do you think he'll say" Ava licked her lips.
Jay and Hailey glanced between each other, "Hank likes thing to go his way" jay told her and Ava nodded knowingly.
"I'm probably better in an OR then a drug nest" Ava joked.
They stood in a awkward silence for a minute until their was a knock on the door. Jay was startled but opened it, "Hank" he let him in, having not expected to to get here so quickly.
"Get dress" Hank threw a duffle bag onto her bed.
"Your doing one last job then you're going back to Gaffney and we never speak of this again" he told her, walking back out of the room. The three of them looked between each other before Ava moved to grab her duffle bag, and went into the bathroom, "one last job" she sighed, pulling her shirt over her head.

Ava sat in the back of an unmarked police van with Jay and Hank.
"You go in, get the recordings of the deals. Then you go home and ring Johnny, tell him your being called out of state. Then we flush your phone and you go home to lover boy, go it?" Hank held out the wire.
"Got it" Ava slide the camera into the button hole of her jacket. Ava sat up and moved to the back of the van. Jay touched her arm brevity before opening the door and allowing her to hop out.
Ava walked down the street to the train station, she got the train to the end of the line and walked the fifteen minutes to thr car park they were meeting in. Ava spotted two arms in the empty lot. She could make out who everyone was from Johnny's gang. One of the men facing her spotting her apprcohing and reached for his hip. Johnny's men pulled out their own guns in response, creating a stand off.
Johnny turned around and spotted the cause of the disruption.
"Some entrance you've made there" he teased.
"Well you know me" she smiles and the men dropped their guns.
"This is Andreas, the one I was telling you about" he wrapped an arm around her.
"Belgian?" One of the men asked.
"German" Johnny replied for her.
"Let's do some business" she smiled, putting a hand on his chest as he wrapped an arm low on her hips.
Johnny pops the truck of his car and lifted the floor out to relive what Ava guessed to be about three KGs of coke.
"So how much you want?" He asked, cutting open one of the bags with a pocket knife so they could try some.
"I was think we'd-" the man was cut off by an engine revering nearby.
Wheels screeched behind them as a car came into the car park, rolling down their window. It took Ava a second the realise what was happening before she hit the floor, laying as flat as she could with her hands over her head.
"Get down!" Someone yelled as the machine gun unloaded above them and the gangs fired back.
Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang.
The noise seemed to last for hours as Ava was suddenly burring her face in hot sand, the sun beating down on her as Danny laid next to her. Things went quite and Ava was back in Chicago. She lifted her head up slowly to looked up, "not you're first rodeo?" Johnny asked, helping her up. "Not quite" Ava brushed herself clean.
"Everyone clean?" Johnny and the other leader looked around to make sure no one was injured. "That was a warning, they didn't want to kill anyone" the other gangster suggested.
"Okey, we'll pick this up another day and you can meet Andreas, but I'm taking her home"
Johnny put a hand on her back and helped her into the passer seat of his car. Ava kept her breathing steady as she tried not to remember the night of Connors going away party, being in that car. She covered herself with her jacket and shifted uncomfortably in her seat,
"Andreas?"
"Huh, oh sorry" Ava looked straight ahead.
"Where you live girl?"
"Ocean view motel" Ava replied.
"Here, breathe easy" he told her, "they were just warning shots, doll"
Johnny drove her to her motel and dropped her off. Ava let herself in and watched him pull away. She slipped off her shoes and retrieved her second phone from the headboard.
"Hey" she breathed, falling back on the bed, rolling herself in the blanket.
"Everything okey?" Jay asked, the worry clear in his voice.
"Yeah, I hit the deck quick enough" she ran a hand through her hair.
"You sure you've okey?" He questioned again.
"I'm fine Jay, you'd know more then anything that I'm used to that" she rolled into her stomach.
"Okey, we'll be over later to bring you home"
Ava smiled into the sheets, "say that again?" She asked softly.
"What?"
Jay chuckled, "well be over later to bring you home, Ava you're going home"
Ava chuckled into the the before rolling back onto her back.
"I'm going home" she breathed, "I'm going home"
Ava showered, doing her best to relax the muscles in her back with the weak water pressure. She washed and dried her hair in the bathroom. She brushed her hair, evening out her blonde curled before putting on the only of make up she had, some lips gloss and mascara.
Ava packed her bags and anxiously waited for Jay's car, tapping her foot to the ground. She bit her lip, thinking of what to say when she saw Connor again, if he'd be the first one to hug her or if she'd get the chance. Or maybe he'd just scoop her into his arms and carry her home. Not wanting to let her go.
Headlights shone through her window blinding her as she went to cover her face. There was a hard knock on the door before it suddenly swung open.

Hank's email pinged late durning his shift, just as he was about to leave for the night. Sitting down at his desk he opens the tab and clicks on the link. Hand watches the video, frozen in his place at its contents.
"Everything okey sarge? I'm just going to get Ava" Jay knocks on his door.
"Get Connor Rhodes in here!"
