Chapter four

Vis was shown to her new chambers by her cousin shortly after leaving the queen. On the way there, he had stooped by a door with a red frame around it.

"These are my chambers. Please don't make a habit out of visiting too often." He continued down the corridor, stopping a few doors down, shoving the door open to the room.

Vis did not hesitate, and stepped into the big chamber quickly. It was far too fancy for her liking. A big bed, a study, an enormous wardrobe, a separation wall, and behind it a big tub. The bed was bigger than her room she had as a little girl. Dressed in the finest sheets, blankets of fur on top. Fury rugs on the floor. She sat down on the edge of the bed, out of breath from taking in how it looked.

She paid no attention to the prince who had placed himself leaning against the wall of the wardrobe.

"I have to find you some staff. And I will send my sister with some of her clothes that you can have until we have had proper ones made for you."

Vis just nodded, not knowing what to say. The prince now pushed himself from the wall. "What about my things?" She asked, finally looking over at her.

"What things? We will provide you with everything you need, don't worry about that." Vis sighed loudly.

"No, I have personal things in my rooms up in The Green Gallion. My diary, my training clothes, my letters from my family." She added, not breaking eye contact with her cousin.

"Do you really need old junk?" He asked, raising his brow.

"It.. it is not junk, my prince. It is my memories, my life. I need them." She added, sighing again.

"In fact, I insist on it. If you want me to stay here I need my junk." Aemond let out a soft chuckle, nodding his head.

"Very well, I will take you tomorrow. It is far too late for us to safely move around in Kings Landing." He added, leaning back against the wall again as if he wasn't planning to leave any time soon.

"We eat dinner after dusk in the dining room. I will send my sister along with one of her maids straight away. You need to bathe. You stink of dragon." He adds, finally moving away from the wall and walking towards the door.

Vis looks at the prince in shock of what he has just said.

"See you at dinner then." Is the last thing he says before walking out and closing the door behind him.

Vis had walked around in her chambers for a while, studying the art on the walls, reading the titles of the dusty books on the shelf.

She had removed her cloak, and now she was sitting by the vanity, slowly combing her hair with a brush she had found in the drawer of it.

Her shoes were muddy, and the base hem on the skirt on her dress was filthy as well. She guessed the reason why it took so long for Aemonds sister to arrive was because the whole situation had to be explained. She finished brushing her hair and sat down on the edge of the bed when suddenly, there was sound coming from behind the book shelf.

Out of nowhere, the wall opened up, and a young girl with white hair stepped into the chamber, much to Vis' shock. Following her was a girl, carrying a whole load of clothes and several pouches in her hands, someone who Vis figured out must be the maid.

"Hello." The girl with the white hair said, a big smile on her face.

"You must be Visenya. My brother told me all about you, dear cousin." She added, quickly sitting down next to Vis.

"Y-yes, your grace." Is all Vis was able to blurt out, smiling softly back.

"How.. how, what... where did you come from?" Vis looked at the girl, really confused on why she had appeared out of the book shelf and not coming from the chambers door.

"Oh, there is a number of secret pasways through the whole castle, but only the family and a few important people know about them. So it's a secret you must keep dear to your heart." The girl says, smiling even brighter.

"Oh, and I am Heleana, by the way. Oh, you are beautiful." Her grin staying, as she reached for Vis' curly lock by the side of her face.

"This is Yara. She is one of my best maids and a dear friend. I hope you'll get along." Vis has no idea what to say. What do you say to a queen who appears out of nowhere with a servant girl?

"Is it really true you have managed to befriend Vhagar?" Heleana takes Vis' hands in her.

"Yes, well, it was quite a few years ago." Vis answers kindly.

"I bet my brother didn't like the sound of that." She giggles. "He is rather protective of her." She says, lowering her voice slightly.

"But most important of all, I think he is a little impressed. He once told me he thought he would be the last human Vhagar would care for. Boy, was he wrong then, huh?" She laughs, fiddling with Vis' curls again. Vis just nods, not really sure how to act in this situation.

"Oh, have you met my husband yet?" Heleana asks, smiling yet again. Vis nods shortly, trying not to remind herself of how cocky the king had acted earlier towards her.

"My husband can be quite cheeky, so don't be afraid to be just as cheeky back." She adds.

"Well, I think that would be disrespectful, giving he's the king and all." Vis adds, seeing that Heleana nods her head in an agreement.

"Yara, will you please help the Princess bathe, dress, and braid her hair for dinner?" Heleana asks as she looks at Yara. "Of course, your grace, we will get to work straight away."

Heleana gets up from her seat, now walking towards the chamber door.

"See you at dinner then, hun." She says, giving Vis a soft smile as she departs through the door, closing it behind her.

Vis looks over at Yara, who now is putting the clothes she brought into the wardrobe. When she is done, she tells Vis to just sit back and relax as she fetches the guards to get water for the tub.

Yara was gone for quite some time, but soon, she returned with 10 different men with two buckets each, all helping with the preparation of the bath. Vis is in shock from all this big change this day had brought her. She simply closes her eyes in her seat, trying to think of what the seven hells she is gonna do now.
