CHAPTER THRITYSEVEN

That night, Aegon had taken away his love, Ameond had indeed followed them.

On their way to Kings Landing, he had stopped several times to let Vhagar rest as he knew that she would never be able to keep up with his brother's dragon anyway. And if Aegon wanted her dead, she would be dead already.

So when he had seen the first ship that acted as a beginning of the Kings Bay, he flew low. The darkness had barely given him a good sight, but he had seen the scorpions on the deck of the boat they passed. He was lucky that the ship seemed to be sleeping, and so did the watch. When he flew past the second and third ship, he had the idea that he might as well try and find allies if his brother so badly seemed to want to hurt him.

In reality, Aegon had had the fleet made to slay Vhagar and not Aemond andconly if necessary. He knew what damage the dragon could do on the capital if he was unsuccessful in regaining control over his wife, and that was why Aegon had set up the scorpions.
Aegon simply only wanted time with Vis, time he thought he deserved.

Vis had been locked back into her room after Amara and the guards had walked her back to her chambers. Before leaving, Amara had helped Vis braid her hair into single braid, and then she had left her behind in the room alone.

What surprised Vis was how unsafe the whole situation was towards herself and her baby. If she suddenly had all this stress went into an early labor, how would someone know before they walked into her room? She barely had her voice as well, and now she found herself in her chambers all alone, only longing for the company of her husband. She had found a book on the shelf that she knew she had started reading the evening before they left the capital, so she started from scratch with it.

Occasionally, her attention was ripped away from the book from movement in her belly. When trying to return to it, however, all that kept replaying in her head was her and Aegons' conversation from earlier.

Even though he had explained himself quite well, it still was not enough of a reason to kidnap her from her husband. She still wanted answers for things like where everybody was in this bloody castle, as there were barely just guards roaming around.

What had happened to her aunt, and where was Helaena in the middle of all of this? Where was Aemond since he had gone to storms ends for allies, something that didn't seem like him at all. What if he had abandoned her?

The last question was tearing herself apart. It was quite hard to think of a scenario where she would be forced to live without him. He was her sun after all, and he always said that she was his moon and stars. They were on the breaking point on a new path of life when it had all been ripped away so cruelly.

All this thinking was giving Vis the worst throbbing headache. Yet another example of Aegon being a huge pain in the ass. She got herself up from bed before walking over to the door, leaning towards it, pressing her cheek against it to listen for any voices.

"Hello?" She called out, her voice slightly raised. When the door almost immediately opened, she had to step away quickly to not get hit by it.

"Can I please have a pitcher of water and some peppermint powder for my head?" She asked as she looked upon the guard who had opened the door. It was ridiculous that she had to ask for things that should be basic. But it was even more ridiculous that she was even locked in as if the six guards outside wouldn't be able to stop her if she tried to leave.

"And some milk of the poppy, please. I have a lot of hip pain." She had previously used a few sips of the milk as the maester had told her that it was perfectly safe as long as she just took small sips. The guard just closed the door in her face, and Vis left the door, not sure if the matters would be fixed or not. Nevertheless, she got herself over to the bed to lay down to wait, just in case someone did come to her rescue.
