I apologize for the small break I had from posting updates. I've been unwell, so I had to take a break.

CHAPTER FIFTYSEVEN

And for whatever reason, Visenya did not wake up that morning as she usually did when she was not sleeping in her own bed.

Jace had woken up early, however. And when he had laid beside her just watching her sleep for what felt like hours, he eventually decided that he needed to get up. They had not been interrupted, and since Vis never had maids or staff when she visited somewhere, there was nobody who had a single reason to wake them.

Jace had gotten out of bed and dressed himself as quietly as possible. He was checking on her constantly, though. While washing his face, he had heard her groan and move around. And it was very much amusing seeing her just roll around in that bed, her naked body now barely covered by the blanket they had slept under.

It must have been very late in the morning when there was a knock on the door, and so he had quickly answered it, mostly to make sure not to wake her.

When he opened the door, William was the one outside.

"She's still asleep." He informed William, who scrunched his nose in reply.

"It's probably wise if you wake her. We have news from Castle Black, my prince." Jace had just nodded, closed the door, and let out a heavy sigh.

He walked over to the side of the bed and sat down on the edge. She was on her stomach, spread out with both her arms and legs. Her face smooshed to the side of her pillow, and she was making those sweet puffs and huffs as she breathed.

He could not help but smile to himself from the sight of her. She really did look peaceful and very comfortable, and he hated that he was probably gonna disturb her dreams and her slumber.

Reaching out to start the process of waking her up as gently as possible, he brushes away the hair that covered her face. When his pinky had brushed over her skin, she almost jumped, clearly the touch scaring her awake. A loud set of groans followed, and she let out a heavy exhale after she had barely opened her eyes and saw that it was just Jace waking her.

"What?" Her tone was clearly annoyed, and she had probably by this moment realized that there was a reason why she had been woken up. Jace actually got up from his seat and instead squatted down next to the bed and leaned his arms over the mattress. "

Were you dreaming of me?" He watched her face closely as he asked, letting out a soft chuckle when she just shook her head slightly.

"I was dreaming that I rode Sun, and that out of nowhere, Vhagar joined in." She replies in a mumble.

"Without a rider?" When she just shrugged and closed her eyes again, he stood up and sat down beside her, reaching for the blanket and pulled it to cover more of her exposed back.

"Aren't you being a gentleman." He could hear from her, and those were words that made him laugh.

"William said there was news from Castle Black. And he looked like he was a little stressed, so I won't be surprised if the news is sour."

This made her roll over in her spot, not even bothered by the fact that he probably could see way more than he should have had her naked body right now. She let out another loud groan as she reached up and rubbed the sleep out of her eyes.

"I was hoping you would wake me in a totally different way." She mumbles as she quickly sits up, the hair that has come undone from the braid completely falling in front of her face.
