CHAPTER FOURTYNINE

They had both barely gotten out of the area where the pool was when they were both approached by Ser Criston. He took one look at both of their hair, sighed heavily, but did not open his mouth.

"Is there a problem, Ser Criston?" Aegon had seen the Sers face and was not particularly impressed by how he had chosen to judge.

Ser Criston just gave the Prince a short smile before looking over at his Queen who were also carrying a face of questioning. "My queen, your uncle, Prince Daemon is back." And with that, Vis was gone. It took a while for Aegon to catch the fact that she had just started walking away, and he was forced to run after her.

So now, as she had regained her normal speed, both the Prince and her knight were barely following behind. "Vis!" Aegon called out in attempt to slow her down, but she just kept walking. When they reached the stairs that led up to the next floor, she saw her uncle coming down from it and stopped.

"There she is!" Daemon started his way down the stairs, and was heading towards his niece with his hands out, and when he was down by the end he brings her into a tight hug. "Thank you so much for coming, Uncle." Aegon was observing them. He knew that they had become great friends and he had helped her a lot with things she needed advise with.

"Anything for my queen." He let's go of her and looks over at Aegon. "Well if it isn't the wife killer." Daemon reaches his hand out and flicks one of Aegons white wet locks in the air. "Uncle." Vis could hear the tension in the air, she could almost taste it too.

When Daemon had been pardoned he also had to promise to never seek revenge against his nephew. He had refused, reminding Vis what Aegon had done to his family, then reminded her what he done to her. When Vis had made him swear, and promised him that he could mount any dragon to his liking, among giving him the freedom of being lord of Dragonstone as well as her most trusted advisor when it came to warfare, he had told her he would think about it.

That same night she had found Aegon up on the loft he always retreated to, but not alone. Instead, he had found them both drunk and about to kill eachother. Vis had ran over to at least try and separate the two, and when she had stepped in front of her cousin, Daemon had started laughing hysterically. He too had heard about the feud the brothers had over their cousin, and at some point, it was bound to be a love triangle. It was only unfortunate that one corner died as a result from the other.

Vis had asked her uncle to swear his loyalty to her again, as well as abandon any thoughts of revenge. Daemon had just patted his nieces cheek, nodded slightly, still clearly drunk. Vis had been a bit shocked from the answer. "I'm getting old, and I would prefer to live my life as it pleases me. So if you hold your end of the bargain I will hold mine. But if he ever hurts you, I will take my sweet time and end him myself."

Vis was forced to just agree, and he had bent the knee in front of her and sworn his loyalty.

The next day he had been named Lord of Dragonstone, as Vis had promised. He bent the knee again in front of all the lords and Lady's, and he had asked if he could attempt to mount Dreamfyre.

They same evening, they had all been gathered in the pit. Aegon had told her that he knew for a fact that Dreamfyre would never let him mount her. So when Daemon started signing a very familiar song in high Valeriyan, Vis had stood up from her seat to make sure she was witnessing the legendary dragondancer song being used right in front of her.

Aegon had asked what the fuck he was doing, and when he saw the look on Vis' face, he could see the admiration light up on her.

When Heleana had died, Dreamfyre had her saddle removed. And she was up until now barely out of the pit because even though how many times Vis had tried, Dreamfyre would not let her come near her.
