CHAPTER FIFTYEIGHT

Later in Winterfell

When Daemon, Laenor, and Aegon had put their dragons down outside of Winterfell, they had done so under the sight of the greatest army ever gathered in the north in the last 50 years. But that army was mostly just there for a worst-case scenario situation.

Daemon wasted no time in advising his niece the Queen that he and Laenor should leave to patrol beyond the wall on dragonback. They certainly had to know exactly how many men would be needed for this war.

And Vis knew better than to question the Rougue Prince. So she granted him an immediate go-to leave on his dragon with Laenor by his side on Seasmoke.

Vis had barely had time during the day for her and Jace after that night they shared together.

The next day, there was more sour news and more attacks. More men of the nights watch had fallen to the hands of wildlings.

Jace still stayed with her during that first week while they waited for backup. She allowed herself to show how vulnerable she was to him every night. And neither of them thought of the long-term consequences that might bring either.

And when Aegon had stepped in front of his lost love who had her Lord in waiting by her side, he had done so with a look on his face that made Vis completely certain that he was hiding something. She knew Aegon way too well for there not to be something on his mind.

So when Jace had left them to check on the dragons and it was just the two of them, she had broken the awkward silence.

"What is wrong with your face?" She had just spat it out as if it was something wrong, which there was not, of course. Just the look of a man with secrets.

Aegon had just chuckled as he took a sip of his cup.

"I don't know, your grace. What IS wrong with it? Maybe you finally broke me?" He suggested, keeping that smug look plastered on his face.

"Where do you go when you disappear, Aegon?" She had been informed that the reason why they came a few days late was because they had to wait for the Prince who was traveling, but none knew where.

"I visit where I hear the whispers, your grace. You must have heard them too?" He raised a brow, saying that, clearly amused by the confused expression on Vis' face.

Vis had basically just punched the table with her fist as she got out from her seat.

"You can waste your life on nothing if that pleases you, but if you are to be a part of my court, you will not leave it without my FUCKING permission! Is that understood?"

Aegon had just pressed his lips together and made a grimace.

"You seem terribly tense for a woman who keeps her Lord in waiting in her chambers at night, Visenya. What, does Lord Strong not know how to make you happy?" He had kept his face very tense and serious, something that just angered her more. And when she did not reply, he just laughed like the childish man he was.

"I do hope you have remembered to take your moondug tea, Vis. It would be terribly uncalled for if you end up falling pregnant during your war." Vis' eyes had widened by the words. She had, in fact, not remembered to take her moondug tea, and that could very well end with an unfortunate result.

When Aegon saw how she had reacted to his question, and by the way she was now storming off and out of the room, now had answered it very well.

She stormed out of the castle, and her mission was to find Jace. She needed to remind him that they had been intimate for a week straight now. But before she had even gotten down the stairs, she had been stopped by Lord Turon, who seemed in a terrible mood and had an expression on his face that screamed shock.
