CHAPTER SEVENTYTWO
There was complete chaos in the throne room that noon. A lot of the bigger houses lords had a lot to say.
It did not help with the heated discussion when lady Jayne Arryn came and entered the room, completely silencing the crowd from the sight of her presence.
"What is it that I hear? White walkers beyond the wall?" Lady Jayne was shouting towards Vis and Aemond that stood up by the Throne.
"If I can get a minute or two of complete and utter silence, I will tell you all that I know!" Vis has to raise her voice even more as neither of any lord or lady seem to want to shut their mouths.
Vis watches Lyara come up by her side, and what she does next shocks even her. She mumbles some words in high valryian and out of nowhere, the torches around the room lit up in full fire, the flames stretching long and high up into the room.
"Witchcraft!" Lord Jamie is the one to shout now, and when Lyara looks over at Vis, she is wide-eyed as she has never seen such happening with her own eyes before.
She knew Lyara had powers, as she did after all give Aemond his life back, but seeing it in person is not something you'll ever find yourself prepared for.
Aegon is the one who takes the situation and calms the chaos when he draws his sword and points it towards Lord Jamie, who is about to walk up towards Lyara.
"Silence! And you will not get any closer, or I will slit your throat!" He points his sword towards Jamie's chest, forcing him to back away that way.
"There is nothing else I would rather do than tell you that these news are untrue! A lot of you must have thought that is what I was going to tell you that the wild sisters were a threat to us. But that is not the case." Vis is now finally able to sit down, and once she starts talking, she can also finally lower her tone as silence is now a fact.
"Many of you must know that years ago, a woman of no dragon blood was able to claim the next biggest dragon in our world. The dragon Merlor was the biggest after Vhagar, and even though Prince Aemonds dragon, the Cannibal is still bigger..., paired with an army of undead, they will be hard to stop." She pauses for a moment so people can swallow the words, as they must certainly be hard to hear.
"Lady Lyara has informed me that -"
"Lady Lyara? Why do you listen to a witch?" Lord Jamie is about to walk up again when Aemond now is the one drawing his sword, pointing the end towards his throat.
"Take another step, I dare you." Aemond speaks through gritted teeth. When Aegon raises his sword as well, Lord Jamie backs away.
"Let the queen speak." Aegon adds.
"The next person who interrupts our queen will be put into the dungeon!" He adds on top of that.
Vis let's out a heavy sigh before she continues again.
"As I said, Lady Lyara is the only one who has the biggest and most correct information when it comes to this crisis, and we will all be smart to listen to her. She has informed me that she has seen this threat in her visions and she -"
"Her visions? So she has not seen it with her own eyes?!" Lord Jamie interrupts again, and this time it is enough for Aegon. He is just about to strike Lord Jamie when Vis sees him lift his hand.
"Aegon! You will not hurt Lord Jamie!" Vis hurries down by his side and grabs him by the arm. "Lana, Rhea. Please escort both Lord Jamie and Prince Aegon out immediately. I will fill you in later!" She looks at Aegon when she says that, and she can see how annoyed he is by the way he's resisting when Lana grabs him and pulls him away and out of the room.
