Y'all, I cannot believe that it's already 30 chapters of my story completed!
It's been such a nice experience to get back into writing after being on hiatus for so many years. And the welcome I got has been incredible. Thank you so so much for sticking to my vivid imagination and to the story. It has been a very big privilege to do a comeback like this!

CHAPTER THIRTY

It was already mid day and Vis had barely gotten anything done. She had visited the kitchen to talk to the cooks about the herb she wanted, but had no luck as that was not something they could provide for her. She was grateful for the woman she had talked to, for so delicately handling the situation.

Vis had seen the look on her face when she had asked for the Moondug herb, but the woman had just simply apologized and told her to ask the Maesters. That was something Vis wanted to avoid. If she could fix the problem herself it didn't need to be common knowledge among the Maesters and maybe other staff that she wanted to have it available.

Nevertheless she had gotten herself to the part of the castle that housed the Maesters, the same tower where Aemond had dragged her to for testing her blood. She had quietly made her way into the laboratory. Maybe she could try and see if she could find the herb without making a fuss about it. But when she had entered the big room there was several Maesters there, all staring towards the princess who they definitely had not expected to find in their tower.

Vis had nervously looked out of the windows and she could see all the work that was being done outside of the castle walls.

"Princess Visenya, what can I help you with?" The oldest looking Maester had walked over towards her. Vis had grabbed his shoulder and asked straight away about the herb.

"I need the Moondug herb, as one does when you want to have intimate relations without falling pregnant." She had explained in a whisper. To her surprise the Maester had just nodded. Maybe it wasn't an uncommon question for them after all. He had asked Vis to follow him and he had taken her to a room that was separate from the laboratory. Inside the room were shelves on shelves with jars and bottles. He had searched for a while before reaching for one of the smaller ones on the top shelf in the corner.

"It is already crushed into a fine powder and all you need to do is add one spoon to your tea every morning. No exceptions and if you forget it will lose it effect. The spoon is in the jar." He had handed her the jar, pattet her hands as he was about to step out of the room.

"Can.. I ask that the information of me receiving this herb is not shared with anybody?" Vis blurted out almost in a whisper. The Maester had looked at her, sighed, but nodded quickly.

"You have my word."

"Can I consume it any other way then drink it?" She asked as she lifted the jar to get a better look of what was inside of it.

"I would not recommend that, but if you have to, you could mix it into any other drink but alcohol." He nodded again before turning to try walk out.

"And does it work straight away?" She asked, causing him to stop and turn back to her.

"No, full effect is expected within a week."

A full week? How was that gonna go? Vis thanked the Maester and got on her way back to her chambers. That information about it taking a week had her make a face when thinking about it. Aemond was definitely not gonna like that. But she had read about other methods that would still be risky, but at least not as risky as getting pregnant before their wedding.

Vis headed towards the training courtyard, wanting to walk by it to see if Aemond was still training. And when she got there he was in full combat with Ser Criston Cole. There was plenty of other spectators, young children, older men and some servants. She had yet to see him in full action though. She made her way to the back of the crowd where there was a slight gap, trying her best not to get noticed by the people who were watching.
