CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

A decent fanfiction has a little bit of both. Romance, drama, and action.

When Vis wakes up the next morning, she is alone in her own bed.
It was an odd feeling falling asleep with Aemond and then waking up alone in an empty bed. If anybody had stepped into the room, there was no evidence that she had slept with anybody but herself that night. Not even clothes on the floor, not even anything but the smell of them both. And you definitely had to know what they both smelled like for you to know that they had both been laying in the sheets.

As she sits up, she can hear a lot of screaming coming from outside the window, among with several bangs.

Vis hasn't even gotten out from the bed when she is scared even more awake from her chamber doors opening. A girl walks in, but it is not Yara.

"Who are you?" Vis looks over at the girl who has her tray of breakfast in her hand.
The girl walks over to the table with the tray and puts it down before turning towards Vis.

"Tissaia, princess." Is all the answer that is offered.

"Where is Yara?" Vis' tone is angry. She didn't care for changes, especially now that she had found such a good friend in her maid.

"I'm sorry, I don't know who that is." The girl answers before she turns her heel and exits the room.

Vis is quick to get up and put on her chamber robe, exiting her room. She turns to one of the guards outside of her room.

"Where is Yara?" She asks, but none of them are offering an answer.

"Has the prince left his chambers?" She continues asking the guards, but again, no response.

"I order you to answer me. Where is Aemond?" She yells, not waiting for an answer before she turns her route to doors down to his chambers. The doors are locked when she tries to get in.

Nobody is talking to her, and now she is strutting around in the corridors in only her chamber robe and bare feet. She keeps walking, wanting to see if she can find any soul in the castle who can give her an answer. She runs up the stone stairs that lead to the next level when a hoard of guards, along with Ser Criston Cole, is heading towards her.

"What is going on?" She is clearly yelling at the guards who also just pass her when she reaches the top of the stairs.
In pure frustration, she tries to enter all the doors in the upcoming corridor.

Most of them are locked. When she reaches around the next corner, she nearly falls from the scare she gets from running into someone. When she finally finds back her balance, she sees that she has just run into The King. He looks like he has seen a ghost and is clearly drunk and carrying a big bottle.

"Aegon, what is going on?" That's when she hears it. A huge explosion just outside the windows that run along one side of the corridor. Sprinting over to the window, the view that faces her sends her into shock. Several houses outside of the keep are on fire, and when she scans the roof tops, a dragon suddenly appears as it flies over the keep before spitting out fire on more of the capital. She realized very quickly that it was no other dragon than the blood whyrm.

Suddenly, another more familiar dragon flies right behind it. It is Vhagar. In complete shock, but still now very much awake, she turns around from the window when another house explodes from the fire from Caraxes. She runs over to the king, who is now sitting on his ass against the stone wall.

"Get the fuck up!" Vis yells at her cousin as she tries to pull on his arm.

"Why, we're fucked anyway." Aegon mumbles through gritted teeth as he pulls his arm away from Vis' grip.
