CHAPTER FOURTYFIVE

"Your grace..?" Rhae is trying her very best to awaken her best friend from her clearly deep slumber. It was slumber that she had desperately needed, but now she was needed somewhere else.

While on their watch outside of the Queens chambers, a watch they had every single night, Rhae, who was Visenyas childhood friend and also a knight, with her partner Ser Lana had recieved a message that required the Queens attention right away.

Before Vis has gotten to sleep, she had been joined in her chambers by Maron Cole, her current hand. He had informed her that a new pirate hierarchy had formed among the Stepstones. But that they had sent a convoy of the Queens guard to solve the situation.

Maron had been informed by his son, Ser Criston, that he should join the queen in the Prince's chambers before nightfall, as she was planning on staying there to keep an eye on him.

But when Vis had seen the incredible shape Aegon had been in, such good shape in fact that he managed to tease and yell at his cousin, she had quickly abandoned the plan and retreated to her own chambers.

Maron had, therefore, showed up at Aegons chambers, much to his annoyance when the hand was seeking Vis and she was not there. Actually, the answer he had given was, "Should I drop my briefs, and you can have a look and see if she's hiding in there?"

The answer had angered the hand terribly, and it was therefore the first thing he had informed Vis about when he had found her. The comment had made Vis laugh. Aegon was obviously still feeling good enough to be a moron.

And now because the situation that was developing in the Stepstones had turned sour, and the news of peace seeking members of the Queens guard had been killed without hesitation, she was now needed back up at the council.

"Your grace?" Rhae had shaken her friend much harder, but she did not seem to want to wake up.

"Vis!!" The sound of Rhae's voice was ringing in her ears as Vis was pulled from the deepest sleep she had had since she became Queen. When she turns around and sees her best friend, she is slightly annoyed that she has been disturbed.

"The pirates attacked the Queens guard, the Hand is requesting your presence in the council room." The words cause Vis to sit up slightly, rubbing her eyes as they wander to Rhae's partner Lana, who is now also walking into her bedroom.

"There is a Maester apprentice outside. He wanted to tell you thar the Prince has started to become sickly again."

"For fucks sake." Vis groans as she lifts away her covers and sits up in her bed, stretching her muscles.

"Can the hand solve the situation without me or?" Vis asks Rhae who shrugs. This is the first time she has had to wake her friend in the middle of the night after she became Queen.

"Ser Lana, you will go to the Prince and make sure that the Maesters treat him according to how they did last time. If he is in pain, give him milk. If he gets any worse than how he was on his worst last time, you will report to me."

Vis reaches for her robe, but Rhae is quicker and assists her with getting her dressed.

"Rhae, please have a raven sent to my uncle Prince Daemon in Bravvos, I will be needing him back home for this." Rhae just stands there and stares at her friend as if she is serious or not.

"Vis, do you really think that is a good idea?" She steps after the queen that is now on her way out of her chambers.

"If there is a war dwelling in the stepstones, then Daemon has dealt with it before. He can do it again." Vis specifies before walking away and head towards the stairs.
