CHAPTER FIFTY
When they had entered the dragon pit and separated themselves to find their dragons, Vis had gone further into the caves. Vermax enjoyed silence, so when he was in the pit, he would be in the very back of it. She had of course first offered Aegon to come with him in case Sunfyre would try and reject him, but Vis heard no roars, nothing but silence and the sounds of inside the pit. When she greeted Vermax he had lit up the ceiling with his flames, and Vis had not wasted any time to get herself up on his back. Ever since she had become queen, her hand had tried and forced her to start using a saddle. But Vis had sworn to keep riding Vermax saddle less, as she found it so much more comfortable, as well as she knew how much better it was for her dragon to have the freedom. They were much more connented that way, and she used her weight to adjust his directions.
Finally outside of the pit, Sunfyre could be heard behind them. Vermax had roared at the presence of the dragon, and when she saw Aegon on top of Sunfyres back she was relieved to see that it had went well so far. Sunfyre had stretched his head towards the back of Vermax in attempt to greet her who had been the one who had ridden him most recently, but before Sunfyre had reached her with his head, Vermax had growled towards him.
Aegon had just chuckled there he sat, yelled for Sunfyre to fly and Vis had witnessed them lift off of the ground. She had watched them take off into the air rather steeply, then commanded Vermax up in the air as well.
When they were both flying out towards the Kings Bay beside each other, Vis had put up her hand, nodded and counted the fingers down. "Naejot!" She had yelled the second her last finger joined her fist and Aegon had been so taken back that Vermax had already a slight advantage by the time he had commanded Sunfyre to fly faster.
Vis felt the air, and the wind resistance was greater the further up into the air she was. So when Vis steered Vermax lower towards the water, you could hear Aegon in the distance laughing as of he thought she was not in control over her dragon.
The weather was foggy and cloudy, and some rain was falling down on them. By the time Vis had steered Vermax and had him in the speed she thought would be of her advantage, she could not see Aegon and Sunfyre either in front of them, above them or behind them. But because the fog made really bad visibility, she stuck close to the coast line.
When she saw the familiar fire tower that marked the beginning of Baratheon territory she was hoping for success, and when she commanded Vermax to put himself down by the grassland hills that towered over the castle, she could barely see ground before they were almost above in. It was therefore a shock when out of the fog, she suddenly saw Sunfyres pink wings flap in the air as they landes less than 30 seconds before them. Aegon had won, and she knew he would spend the rest of the day and shove it in her face.
Loud roars from both of the dragons could be heard as Vermax got himself comfortable at the hill, and when he finally shut up, you could hear Aegons laugh very clearly.
"Are you alright? Did the ride go okay?" Vis had started the conversation with that instead of congratulating him. She had lost the bet and his prize was her ass, but she was not going to give him the satisfaction of rubbing it in her face.
"I am now, my queen!" Aegon got down from his saddle and was running under Sunfyres neck and tried approaching Vermax. But Vermax was just staring at him and growling. "One word and you don't get that win, Aegon. One word!" Vis chuckled as she slid off Vermax back, made her way down his wing and down on the ground. "You would rather burn me to a crisp then having the pleasures of me?" He tried approaching again, but yet again Vermax was threatening. Vis was therefore forced to join him, but run past him and over towards Sunfyre, under his neck and over to his big head. Aegon jogged after caught up to her by grabbing her by the waist, pulling her into a long kiss.
