I love to write about Vis and Daemons relationship. My vision is to show that he has a soft spot for her as the daughter he never got to see grow up into a fine young woman, as Baela and Rheana is not a part of this story. I have not included why, but I indicate in this chapter that they both died young, probably from the same sickness. I might build on it later. Who knows.

CHAPTER SIXTYONE

Vis had run back to her tent, hiding the fact that she was crying like a little baby. It was really hard for her to hear about what Aemond had been going through and the fact that he had struggled so greatly to come back to her because of the guilt that he had.

It was mostly her own fault that what happened with Viserion happened when it did. She let herself become consumed in Aegon and his stressing drama, and as a result, the toll started the birth way too early. If she had just kept insisting on Aegon to let her go and not let herself be wrapped around his guilt tripping methods, they might all be together still.

But that was not the case. She lost Viserion, Aemond, and Heleana that week, and she had felt so much shame from it, especially after she saw the life of her loving cousin was lost just because of all of it.

And now she was probably not pregnant since she had gotten her blood, and things with Jace were complicated. She cared a lot for him, and up until earlier, she was even starting to love him. And when it came between Jace and Aegon, it was clear that she would much rather prefer Jace as a father of her future child. And it had stressed her that she might be pregnant but not because it was Jace, but because she was unmarried and if she was with his babe then she would have to marry him.

But now things had changed, because Aemond was back. And he did not make it any easier to shuffle the emotions and her feelings as he still treated her just like he had always done. He called her all the names he used to call her before he died, he showed his love with affection, and she knew it was true affection and not something he used to piss Jace off as it was very typical him.

She laid on the bed in her own thoughts, her hands on her belly when she was interrupted by shuffling by the tents entrance. "It's just me." She heard Daemons voice, and soon he was inside the tent.

"By the Gods, my darling, why are you keeping it so gloomy?" He chuckled as he stepped over to a table by the wall of the tent that had several candles on it. He lit one of them and brought it with him, placing it on the chair that was by the bedside and doubled as a side table. Vis sat up in the bed, adjusting the pillows she had.

"I'm sorry for storming off." She was short but direct.

"That's fine, my darling, I understand that must have been hard to listen to. In fact, I think we all understood." He gently patted the knee of her left foot as he sat down on the edge of the bed. "I think that there is definitely a reason why they brought him back, and that he is hiding that reason from us. This conflict, it is not big enough for that prophecy. I've read a lot about it as I at one point in my youth thought I might be that prince." He chuckled, and Vis couldn't help but giggle to his silly suggestion.

"But I think what is most important is that you need to find out what you're going to do with that baby." Vis' smile turned to a serious expression just as he said that.

"I got my blood, so I don't think I'm pregnant after all. But I also bled a lot while I was pregnant the last time, so I don't know."

"Then once we have returned to Kings Landing, we will have you weeing on barley the second you walk in the door." He pulled a smug smile as he held back a snorting laugh, causing Vis' smile to reappear.

"I think I'm in love with Jace." She confessed after they had both stopped laughing. "And I don't know what to do because he has been there for me during this crisis, and he made me start seeing that I might have a future with him. But then this happens? It's not like I was ever going to stop loving Aemond, but he was dead. So now that I was finally able to start seeing my future, seeing that we might have a family. It just all falls apart." She felt the tears start pushing in the corner of her eyes again, sniffing slightly from the runny nose.
