CHAPTER SIXTYTHREE

They had been flying for almost two hours, and Syrax had not yet joined them. They had followed the Kings Road, and they would pass the Three Sisters Bay any moment now.

They had not spent much time talking in the air, at it was terribly windy, and she had been forced to pull the hood of her coat over her head and hold it with one hand.

The Cannibal flew incredibly smooth, and when he had leveled his body out and found the perfect flight height she had let go of his horns completely and allowed herself to lean slightly against Aemond who had the privilege of the satchel he had on his shoulders to support his back.

"Are you sure he has not killed her?" She yelled as she turned her neck and looked back at him.

"I doubt it. We would see signs of it in his teeth, my love. Syrax still lives, I am certain of it." He yelled back.

"I don't understand. Can she have feared him so badly that she ignored my commands and fled?"

"Maybe. I'm sorry, my sun and stars. It was very much my intention that our dragons would get along."

She did not reply to him after that. She was filled with too much worry, too much anxiety for where in the Seven Hells her child was.

Visenya may not have any human children, but her dragon was as much as her child as Viserion was. And losing her would be catastrophic.

When they passed the shore of the Three Sisters Bay She finally let herself sit back some more against Aemond, and she allowed herself to close her eyes.

Aemond nudged her slightly by holding her upright. She had begun to slip as she had fallen deeper into her nap slumber. And when she woke, she did so with a gasp. She was quick to grip the horns by Cannibals neck, and when she looked to each side in the sky, she finally saw why he had woken her. On their left was her golden dragon, flying very elegantly beside them.

"Thank the gods." She expressed rather loudly, her body now filled with relief. She then let her eyes fall down to the ground, and all she could see was how dark it had gotten already.

"We passed Harrenhal an hour ago, my love. We're home soon." Aemond tightened his grip that one of his arms had around her body. And even though it was quite dark, she could still see the small towns beneath them lit up.

They flew for another half hour before she finally barely saw the massive city that made out the capital. And now she noticed how warm she was getting. The air was still very much chilly, but not even close to the freezing temperatures as it was in the north.

They flew for another fifteen minutes, and Aemond somehow managed to still steer Cannibal to land on the same spot he used to land Vhagar right behind the dragonpit. Syrax followed but landed quite the distance away from them.

Vis was very quick to get up, and she almost rushed herself down from the back and down the wing of Cannibal, and once she was down on the grass, she stopped and took a long deep inhale as she smelled the fresh sea air that so well was mixed with the smell of the grasslands that covered the backside of the dragonpit.

"Free your dragon, my moon. I have to get Syrax into the pit!" She yelled towards Aemond, who was finally on his way down from Cannibal.

He didn't even have time to respond before she disappeared towards Syrax. And when she finally reached her, she greeted her with a big smile, climbed onto her saddle, and let her lift them up again, only to put herself down into the pit just a few minutes later.
