It is so weird to write about Aemond again. But honestly, I have missed it! I hope you all enjoy this chapter. It was fun writing it.

CHAPTER FIFTYNINE

Aemond had his hand gripping Vis' jaw, the other on his sword, while he switched between looking down at his wife and back up at the man who had his blade pointed towards his neck.

"Do you take me for a fool!? I have had several reports telling me that the Queen lost her husband a long time ago!" Karsten had pushed the tip of his sword harder against Aemonds skin, not cutting the sharp stare he had on the young man on his knees.

"What kind of trickery is this!?" He was screaming at Aemond now, his posture intimidating.

"Put down your sword or my dragon will ingage!" Aemond had stared up at the king through his brows. His stare was cut short, however, when he heard Syrax screech from further away, causing him to look towards her. It was clear that she felt that her rider was in distress but was too scared of the unknown dragon to come any closer.

Aemond did not blame her. It was after all the dragon that all other dragons feared the most who had just landed with his rider in the north.

He looked back at his black beast, who was very much paying attention to the situation.

"I am telling the truth." Aemond said calmly as he now looked down at Vis, who was still very much out of it.

"And if you want peace with the most powerful woman in the realm, then you better help me bring her into the warmth of Castle Black!" He reached up and gripped around the blade with his gloved hand, pushing it away from his skin.

King Karsten was reluctant to step down, as he found this whole scenario incredibly odd and too much alike a trick a person who wanted war could set up just to gain access to their stronghold. But he had no choice but to trust him and yield.

When the blade was gone from Aemonds presence, he slipped both his arms underneath Vis' body and lifted her up into his arms. The king stayed silent as he turned around and started walking back to the group of men who had been by his side earlier. Before Aemond followed, he turned towards his dragon.

"Sagon sýz!" 'Be good'.

It took them a while to get inside the walls of the stronghold that made out Castle Black. When Aemond had stepped into the courtyard with his wife in his arms he had more than enough reason to be on edge from all the staring faces that was following his every step as they made their path into the castle.

He struggled greatly to keep his focus back on the people and the danger that might linger between their faces as all he kept doing was look down at his wife who was still very much passed out in his arms. When he had laid his eye on her earlier he knew that it would be hard, but never in hos wildest dreams would he have thought that seeing his love for the first time in a long time would take such a toll on him.

He struggled greatly with keeping himself calm and collected, and he was now very thankful that the skill of keeping a poker face was a thing that had followed him after he was brought back from the dead.

A wildling woman came rushing towards them as they approached the stairs. Aemond overheard her asking who they were and when the king told her she yelled at him as she thought it was his fault that the Queen now was unconscious, which could ruin their chances for a new start. The king just told her to fetch their healer, and so she disappeared rather quickly after that.

"Are these all the people you got?" Aemond asked as the king guided them into a room.

"Put her down here!" He pointed to the table, and Aemond was quick to carefully put Vis down. He checked her breathing and let out a relieved sigh when he heard that she was getting air.
