Rowan.

My skills was immediately recognized by one of the lieutenant. He made me fight with a sparring partner which I won. I was assigned to be one of the castle guards, particularly stationed near the royal quarters.

Our plan is going well. It was faster than what we have anticipated. My first day in the castle A guard showed me around. I made mental notes of the castle's hallways doors, chambers, guard and staff rooms, even the kitchen too.

As soon as I went back to my room I would draw it and hid it on one of the loose floor beneath the table. And when my owl arrives I will attach it to a hidden pouch on its stomach.

Every night I would go to the castle terrace after my shift ends and would look at Mina's sketch that I made.

"Your girl?" Someone behind me spoke that startled me which made me draw my sword and charge right away. My sword clashed with his.

Once I recognized who it was and I immediately lowered my sword, go down to knees and bowed.

"M...My apologies your highness. I... I got startled."

Prince Chaeyoung put his sword back to it's place and stand by the terrace too.

"Get up, It's fine. I haven't seen you here before that's why I came up to you.'

"Yes, your highness. I've just been stationed here 3 days ago."

"I see. You're fast. If I was a regular soldier you could have killed me already."

I smiled at him. "Thanks to the years of knife throwing. It's a kind of sports we have by the country side, your highness."

The spy is really good at his work. He even came up with this idea if ever they noticed my skills are way advanced than a regular soldier.

"Have you been in a fight before?"

"Yeah. I was a waiter for a bar and had to fight some thugs who trash out at the bar, your highness."

"Not that kind of fight. A duel of arms."

"Oh, that. I did, with wooden swords. My father taught me, your highness."

"So you've just been commissioned here?"

"Yes, your highness. I've always wanted to be a soldier. Now that I'm of age, I'm glad to have my dream come true. Oh sorry your highness, I speak too much."

"That's okay. I don't usually speak much but seeing your skills... curious."

Oh no. That's the least I want have someone be curious about me. He looked as if he's thinking.

"Forgive me for asking, your highness, but what is it that's curious?"

"Such a waste to be just a guard, cause with that skill you could do well in battle."

"Battle? Like in war?"

"Yeah. Have you thought of that?"

"I did, your Highness. In time I'll be stationed at the front line. Fighting for my kingdom."

"What's your name?"

"Rowan of Ilken, your highness." He said with a bow.

"I assumed you know me."

"Yes sire. I do. We all do. We admire your skills, your Highness."

"I'm glad to hear that. You could be great too. Just polish your skills more with experience."

"Certainly your highness. I'm looking forward to be in battle with you someday."

"I hope. Cause we need your kind of speed there."

He then strode off towards the chambers. I then took a deep breath. I was so nervous but glad I was able to met him. He was fast too and skillfull. I now know why the soldiers speak highly of him and even the superiors too. Seeing face to face the man who will soon conquer our kingdom and kill our people makes me remember that no matter how admirable his skill is, he's still the enemy.

I will do everything I can to succeed in this mission. For my kingdom and for the woman I Love.
