Prince Chaeyoung.
I was staring at view by the terrace, wondering how I could make the princess fall in love with me. We started off on a wrong foot. That is not how I wanted our second meeting would be. I remember the look in her face when she saw me by the gates. That explains why she hates me.
I wonder if she finds me attractive. I never bother how women think of me. I do know a lot of them find me handsome, but why doesn't she? Is it because she have Rowan?
I know Rowan is in my way but I can't just kill him or have him sent away. Though he's still pretending, he seemed to be loyal. He is skilled and a great fighter.
I wonder now that the King already signed the treaty, why Rowan is still not dropping the act. What's keeping him? Are they embarrassed or doesn't want us to know they've sent an assassin in our kingdom?
Is Rowan still a threat to me? It seems like it. First, a threat to my life which would've been his mission. Now that they know we're not barbarians like what they thought at first, I would think that's no longer valid. Yet he still haven't told us the truth. Second, he's still a threat for he's in between me and Mina.
A knock was heard on my door. As I opened the door a young nervous looking servant bowed so low and said;
"Prince Chaeyoung, the guests have arrived and the food are ready. All is set for the feast. Your highness said if you could accompany him to the feast."
"Tell him we'll be glad to join him." Momo said as he appeared behind which startled the young servant. He now appeared scared and looked like he could pee anytime. He bowed and said.
"I'd let the King know. I'll come back to escort you once the King is ready. Please excuse me." He bowed walked backwards, turned and hurriedly walked away.
"What?" Momo asked as I looked at him.
I went back to my room Momo followed.
"So what is it you're going to tell me?"
"It became more complicated than I thought it would be."
"Ah yes the now found lady enchantress. I actually thought once you've seen her you'd be all hugging and kissing already."
I looked at him unbelievably.
"She's not an enchantress. And as I've told you before she just saw me whenever she tends to my wounds that's it. No other interactions until a while ago. She doesn't seem to recognize me though."
"Well, yeah. But that isn't complicated just tell her and be done with it."
"Be done with it?"
Momo sighed.
"Be done with it. Like tell her you like her ask her to be your girl. You could be dense sometimes you know."
"Not that simple, specially now knowing that she's the princess."
Momo looked at me so fast that I thought I heard something that comes from his neck. He confirmed it for he's now massaging his neck.
"Princess? What do you mean?"
"She used the name Lady Sharon when she had the journey where I met her. That's her second name while her first name is Mina, the eldest daughter of King Myun."
"The enchantress is Princess Mina? But how did..."
I noded.
"When I talked to the King alone I noticed the painting of their family. She was beside the King."
Momo still looked shocked.
"That complicate things."
"I asked for the King's consent to marry her."
Momo again snapped her neck as he suddenly looked at me.
"Damn. This will kill me instead of a sword or arrow. Wait, I think I heard you said something stupid." Momo said while massaging his neck.
"You heard me. He gave his consent yet he cannot force her to marry me."
"Why? He's the King and her father too."
"Mina isn't like any other Princess brought up just to be royal all smiling, waving and do whatever she was told. You witnessed how fierce she is. She will fight for her right, she's free spirited and does whatever she wants. The Journey she did clearly states that."
"Hmm... the enchantress has an attitude... Complicated indeed."
"Another complication is, Aside from she clearly hates me, there's Rowan. Even the King said how can I compete with their years of being together."
"You want me to finish him?"
"We're not barbarians Momo. I can't do that and I won't let you either. if we do that, imagine what their kingdom will think of us. Thus wasting our purpose here."
"Alright. Alright. That's just a suggestion, which is the easiest way, but you're right. That ain't us."
A knock came from the door.
"Your highness, is ready."
Momo suddenly stood up.
"Great! I'm starving."
We waited at the hallway for the King's arrival. Once he did, the doors to the banquet hall opened. He asked me to walk beside him. I turned to look at the back where Momo and Princess Sana were but still no sign of Mina.
Does she hate me that bad? Does she still think I'm barbaric though though it's already clear that we don't invade Kingdoms nor kill soldiers.
I haven't thought of what I'd do once I've found her. All I was thinking is to see her again.
Yet I admit with the kind of character she has, I wonder if I would be able to convince her to marry me. Yes, marry. Who would have thought I'd be thinking of marriage. I have never thought of it before, not until today. 3 years I've waited and I won't lose her again.
We were greeted by cheers from the guests as we walked towards our table. I skip the chair next to the King for the Princess. The King and I were talking when the door where we came from opened.
There she was looking all elegant and ravishing in a sky blue gown. I was mesmerized by her deadly beauty. She started walking and made the path walk a catwalk. When she almost reached our table, I stood and walked towards her.
I stopped in front of her. "Your Highness" I then bowed, went beside her and offered my arm. Surprisingly, she put her arm on mine. She let me lead her towards her seat.
What power does she have? with just her mere presence, suddenly all the worries I've been thinking a while ago vanished.
