Rowan.

My shift just ended and I made sure not to go again at that terrace. I was near my room when the lieutenant called me.

"yes sir?"

"You are now dismissed from your station. You are requested by Prince Chaeyoung to ride with him for battle tomorrow. You will be leaving at dawn. Prepare yourself to be briefed early."

I was shocked. Was I that good to have impressed him this much?

"Yes sir!" I saluted.

The soldiers who were around me cheered congratulating me.

"At ease. You're damn lucky son. No one's have been requested by the Prince before. How did you do it?"

"One night after shift I was by the terrace when he suddenly came up from behind me. I got startled and reacted fast drawing my sword which he was able to blocked of course."

"Well son. You'd be riding into battle. Prepare yourself to witness bloodshed. A war that you'll remember for the rest of your life, that's if you will live." He said laughing. The other guards looked shocked.

"Yes sir!"

"Good. Take a rest cause it'll be a long journey."

I went back to my room and sat by my bed. I admit, this war got me nervous and scared. But I have to be tough this is for the future our kingdom and for the woman I love.

I'm also worried for this isn't part of the plan.

The next day. I woke up early washed up and get ready. I was already outside waiting before dawn.

First time soldiers began gathering for briefing which lasted for 30mins. We then ate breakfast at the canteen. As we went back to the field we were directed to our designated stations.

"Rowan!" The lieutenant called.

"Yes sir?"

"You'll be assigned to station Alpha. Go there now and don't forget to greet the Princes."

"Yes sir."

I proceeded to the end of the hall, towards the grounds and looked for my designated area near the gates.

As I walked across the grounds. I noticed soldiers of different races speaking in foreign tongue. Where they recruits? Slaves of the war?

I reached the front line where the soldiers gathered there all had a big built. They were looking at me like I'm lost.

A tall big man with scars on his face said. "Who are you looking for kid"

"I'm assigned to station alpha sir."

"You? An Alpha?" He looked at me from head to toe. "Is that a joke."

"Nope, no joke. I requested him."
Prince Chaeyoung said from behind me as he tapped or should I say dropped his hand hard on my shoulder.

"That's a funny one, your highness."

"Mason do I look like I'm joking?"

The smile on his face suddenly wiped out "no, your highness."

"Rowan, meet my boys. Boys, he's Rowan. Don't bully the kid or you'll be sleeping naked tonight in dirt." He said. But before he turned to leave he added "And to answer your question, which is obvious on your ugly faces, to why I brought him here? Cause he's way faster than all of you combined."
