[18] Meeting Joao

You walked towards the door opening it to be met with Joao holding flowers and a small box wrapped in blue paper with a gold ribbon.
You: hiiii!
Joao: why hello there pretty lady!
He gave you a hug kissing your cheek and stretching out his hand to give you the flowers.
You: for meeee?
Joao: only for the most beautiful person ever.
You smiled.
You: you're such a flirt
You pushed him gently
You: come in
He walked inside and was amazed
Joao: this is..a really big house
He looked around.
You: well I guess if you live with the entire Mexico team you have to live somewhere big
Joao: that's crazy.
You: come let's go to the back yard
Joao: wait
You: what?
Joao: I wanna be alone with you for a bitttt
You: joaoooo. I'm with you everyday.

You smiled.

You grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the backyard. You opened the door and everyone's eyes averted to Joao for a second before they went back to doing whatever they were doing. He followed you as you walked towards your dads table.
You: apa mira este es Joao.
Your dad stood up shaking his hand.
Dad: nice to meet you.
Joao: you too sir.
Dad: so you're the man who's been having y/n going nuts?
Joao laughed.
Joao: I guess so.
Then your dad presented him to the rest of the team.
Chucky walked up to you guys.
Chucky: I'm gone for a week and I come back to my little sis with a guy?
You laughed.
You: chucky this is Joao. Joao this is my brother.
Joao: brother? Wait- you're related to Chucky Lozano!!
You; I thought you knew? We share last names?
Joao: I thought it was like a rare coincidence.

You rolled your eyes at Chucky
You: shut up
Joao: what did he say?
You: that you're..really tall for me.
Joao chuckled.
Diego and Kevin weren't too pleased with his presence. You guys both served eachother food and sat at the table with Diego and Kevin. Joao handed Kevin the gift.
Joao: just a little gift from me to you. Happy birthday Kevin.
Kevin faked a smile.
Kevin: thank you Joao.
The tension at the table was unbearable.
You: soooo guys-
Diego stood up from the table.
You: okay?
Kevin went on his phone and you felt ignored
Joao: go on?
You: I was gonna say something but seeing that NO ONE is paying attention nevermind
Kevin cleared his throat.
Kevin: excuse me. I'm gonna go get another beer.
You: really Kevin!
Joao: hey it's fine. I know that they don't like my presence.
You: whattt? No. It's not that.
Joao: y/n.
You: fine. It is that.
Joao chuckled then your dad called him over.
You: oh- looks like my dad wants you.
Joao: uhhh should I be scared?
You: no?
Joao: the uncertainty in your voice is scaring me
You laughed and stood up following joao towards your dad.
Dad: we're having a little soccer game. Care to join?
Joao: of course!!
Dad: sweet. Let's make 2 teams of...6?
The boys separated into teams and you were going to be the ref.

The game had just started and right away chucky scored against the other team.
Dad: ESOOOO VAMOS
Throughout the entire game both teams were tied and it was getting pretty boring. The timer was almost going off. Joao had the ball running towards Nestor who was protecting their goal. Diego ran towards Joao sliding and knocking him down. He then took control of the ball and passed it to Kevin. Joao stood up fast and ran towards Kevin bumping into him taking the ball. He kicked it to your dad who kicked it towards Chucky and he scored.
You: TIME!
Diego's teamed groaned.
You: MY DADS TEAM WON.
Joao celebrated with the others.
Chucky: Joao you're skilled!!
Dad: no doubt. Joao, you're a really good player. I mean the way you got up from that hit like nothing and then took the ball from Kevin. Sheesh. That was great!
Diego and Kevin were really pissed at the fact that they were defeated by Joao.

~Later that night~
You were all sitting around the table in the kitchen.
Kevin: y/n mentioned you were only staying a week. What happened to that? Aren't you like supposed to be back in Europe?
You: Kevin!
Kevin: what? I'm just asking a question.
Joao: uh yeah I was but I decided to stay here with Y/n to spend more time with her.
Kevin: mmmm I see. But what about your team? Did they agree with you staying here?
Joao: no, but they've been winning each game so I'm sure they'll be fine without me. It's only been 2 weeks. I'll be back with them next week.
Diego: and you y/n? Arent you supposed to leave in like a week?
You: yes. And I'm really not looking forward to it. I don't want to leave.
Diego: yikes. What are you 2 going to do?
Joao: we'll visit each other for sure.
Dad: Joao you're welcome to stay here for as long as you want you know.
Kevin and Diego were speechless.
Joao: thank you sir. But I can't take you up on that one.
Dad: why not?
Joao: it's too much to ask for. And besides you have a whole team to take care of.
Dad: 1 more won't hurt.
They both laughed.
Chucky: I wouldn't mind sharing a room with my cuñado.
Joao: cuñado?
Memo: brother in law.
Joao: OH-
He chuckled.
You: guys we're not official-
Joao: not yet
He held your hand.
Dad: well you guys better speed up the process. Y/n is 22, you're 23. I want grandkids when I'm still young so I'm able to play with them. Not when I'm all old and wrinkly.
You turned bright red and so did he.
You: DAD!
Dad: y/n I expect at LEAST 5 grandkids.
Joao: woah- I'm not sure y/n is willing to push out THAT many kids.
You: OF COURSE NOT.
Joao and you: maybe 3
You both looked at eachother and laughed.
Chucky: already thinking about kids? Damn.
Dad: you too chucky. When are you gonna get yourself a nice woman? Y/n can't be the only one giving me grandkids.
Chucky: yeahhhh I'll leave that to y/n.
After a while everyone went to go do their own seperate thing and it was just you and Joao in your room.
Joao: I think your dad likes me!
You: oh he for sure does!! I can tell. You guys are gonna get along just great.
Joao: and your brother too.
You: yeah see! There was nothing to worry about. I'm glad you guys are getting along.
Joao: y/n, I've been thinking.
You: mhmmm
Joao: anddd..well..
You: yeah?
Joao: what do you say if we take a trip to Europe? Just you and me?
You were speechless.
