[17] Birthday

You immediately moved.
You: Diego what the fuck!
Diego: y/n I know you want me, just give in
You: n-no I don't.
You reached and clipped it back
You: OUT
You pointed to the door and he walked away without saying anything. You took a deep breath in.
You: god I don't know what the fuck has gotten into me. I'm acting like such a slutty whore.
You got ready for the day and headed downstairs where you saw your dad drinking his cup of coffee but the rest of the team wasn't there. You joined your dad on the island table.
You: apa y los demás?
Dad: they went to go run.
You: hmm.
You got up getting supplies to make breakfast.
Dad: oye do you know where Diego went last night?
You froze.
You; no. Why would I know where he is.
Dad: pues the entire team was looking for him and they knocked on your door but apparently it was locked.
You: oh yeah, I just didn't want anyone waking me up early that's all. But no I haven't seen him since the game.
Dad: speaking of which. We gotta talk about it.
You: okay look, yes Joao and I met like 4 days ago and went to the party together. I'm not going to lie he's REALLY attractive. But that day at the field he asked me to kiss him, to which I was going to reply no but he just did it. Doesn't mean I don't support Mexico, because I do. But it was just all so weird to me.
Dad: I don't care about the whole Mexico and Portugal thing. I'm mad that you didn't tell me about Joao. Are you guys a thing or what?
You: no. Well kinda?
Dad: kinda?
You: we agreed to get to know eachother but it's nothing official
Dad: mmm okay. Pero con cuidado okay? Why don't you try seeing someone else who we all know? Like someone on the team
You: yeaaah no.

~Later that day~
Your day was pretty normal for the most part. Joao had asked you to hang out and you agreed. You met up with Joao at his house which was sketchy to you but you didn't wanna misplace his trust. Once there you guys talked about your career and how it was living in France. Eventually it got late and you guys ended up watching a movie.
Joao: hey so about last night.
You: yeah?
Joao: I texted you asking you to meet me to see the sunrise. I even sent you the location.
You: I didn't get anything.
You showed him your phone.
Joao: that's weird. Look.
He showed you the texts from his end and just then it occurred to you that Diego had probably went on your phone.
You: oh maybe I might've deleted it. I was just deleting a bunch of texts. I don't know.

~A little later~
You guys started drinking a bit but not too much to avoid anything from going far like it was about to last time. Even tho you were a little tipsy you were still in your common sense.
You: joao it's kinda late. I should be going home.
Joao: stay here.
You: I can't
Joao: come on just 1 night. I'm all alone.
You felt really bad.
You: I knowww but I can't.
Joao: fine I'll drive you.
On the way home you were talking to him about how you wanted him to meet your dad and the team just so that they're more comfortable with you going out with him. You got home and he gave you a hug leaving his cologne smell all over you. You walked inside and went straight to your room. You got undressed and prepared yourself to go to sleep but before you had to speak to Diego. You knocked on his room and you heard footsteps approaching. He opened the door walking away.
Diego: Kevin I don't even wanna hear it, I already told you that-
You: it's me actually.
He stopped in his tracks and turned to look your way.
Diego: Que quieres?
You: did you delete a message from Joao?
Diego: what? No. I don't even have access to your phone.
You: that one night you fell asleep with me. Did you grab my phone?
Diego: no.
You: Diego. It's obvious you grabbed it.
Diego: but I didn-
You: I don't wanna argue.
Diego: fine. Yeah. I did, so what?
You: I knew it
You rolled your eyes and walked away but he pulled your hand.
Diego: y/n.
Then he pulled you by your waist and started kissing on your neck but you pushed him off.
You: DIEGO STOP. I'm sick and tired of you turning me on for no reason, you don't even do shit.
Diego: I turn you on?
He smirked and you immediately took it back.
You: n- no it's just.
Diego: admit it.
You: no.
You walked out furiously closing the door behind you while Diego chuckled to himself.

~weeks later~
You and Joao had gotten even more closer. Diego still kept flirting with you but nothing had happened between you guys and Kevin and you were on non talking terms. Today Joao was coming over to meet your dad and the team. Your dad was making a little celebration for Kevin's birthday and they suggested you invite him. You were done getting ready so now you were just waiting for Joao to arrive. You wanted to wish Kevin a happy birthday but knew he wouldn't want to hear it from you. But you did it either way. He was outside by the garden with a modelo in his hand and laughing with Diego. You walked up to them.
You: hey guys.
Diego: bye y/n!!
He waved his hand in front of your face shooing you away.
Kevin: ya déjala.
You: yeah DIEGO. Anyways umm I wanted to wish you the best of birthdays.
Kevin: thanks.
He took a sip of his beer. And you stood there awkwardly.
Kevin: was that it or was there more?
Diego: Damn.
You:  can I talk to you alone?
Kevin sighed.
Kevin: I guess.  I'll be back Diego.
You both walked inside the house.
Kevin: talk.
You: Kevin I hate being on non talking terms. I already told you that it wasn't my intention to hurt you. I'm sorry okay? I don't know what else you want me to say? I'm truly sorry, I had no idea you felt like that. And I only saw you as a friend.
Kevin: y/n-
You: Kevin please. And I'm actually happy with Joao. He hasn't done anything. So maybe-
Kevin: y/n. It's okay. I forgive you.
You: and- and I just can't with the- what?
Kevin: I've looked back and realized that it was my fault. I wasn't being very clear, and interpreted things wrong. You were single so you have the right to be with whoever you like. Wether that be Joao or not. And I'm happy for you.
You: are you for real?
Kevin: yeah. I hate not speaking to you too. But I accept your apology. We were just friends and I'm hoping we can still be.
You smiled and hugged him while he hugged back.
Kevin: vente, let's go with the others.
You walked with him before hearing the doorbell ring.
You: oh- I think that's-
Kevin: it's cool. Go open it and then come join me and the others later yeah?
You: Mhm.
