You: what are you doing here?
Brianna: oh umm me? No nothing. Same thing you're doing here
You: you okay? You seem nervous.

You looked at them both
You: what's going on here?
They stayed quiet
You: I'm waiting for an explanation
Kevin took a hold of Brianna's hand and sighed
Kevin: we're together
You: WHAT!
Brianna: y/n before you get mad just listen please
You: WHAT IS GOING ON?
Brianna: Kevin and I have been seeing each other for a couple months now. And we aren't official but we're technically together
You: huh? But bri you have a boyfriend!
Brianna: yeah I know but I just don't know how to tell him that I don't feel anything for him anymore and it's a complicated situation
You: so you're cheating on him? Brianna?
Kevin: who gives a fuck? He was mistreating her. He didn't value her enough

She started tearing up a bit

She embraced you in a hug and you kissed her head

Brianna: it's okay. It's not anyone's fault. He just became someone else. Someone who was always infuriated.
Kevin: she came to me and opened her heart
They held hands and he kissed her cheek
Kevin: and we're planning to sue him
You smiled
You: I'm glad you at least told someone. Even if it wasn't me.
Brianna: I know it was wrong for us to keep it hidden from you but we just wanted to see where this would go before we made it oficial
You: it's okay. I completely understand.
Kevin: I'm sorry, but I also wanted to get to know her without anyone surrounding us. You know?
You nodded
You: Kevin take care of her. She has one of the most beautiful souls and I wouldn't want anything else to happen to her.
Kevin: you have my word. My goal is to keep her happy and nothing more.
You smiled looking at the both of them. You knew Kevin was being sincere with his feelings and would never hurt her. This love that had arose was real.

You gave them both a hug
You: I have to go, Joao is waiting for me but I'll see you both later and we'll talk more. You walked away and went to go find Joao. He was sitting in the ball room. As you were walking towards your seat you made eye contact with Diego who was sitting with Graciella. He looked really uncomfortable as she was going on a rant about god knows what. You took your seat next to Joao.
Joao: hey, where were you? You okay?
You nodded
You: yeah I was with Kevin and Brianna
Joao: Brianna?
You: yeah it's a long story. But apparently Kevin and Brianna are together
His mouth dropped
Joao: that was unexpected
You: yup!

You held Joao's hand tightly
You: no matter who wins, you will always be the best player in my eyes
He smiled giving you a small peck
Presentor: and the best soccer player award goes to... JOAO FELIX
Everyone automatically started clapping
You: OH MY GOD
Joao stood up with the biggest smile on his face and made his way towards the stage. As he walked on the stage they played recaps of his games where he scored.
Joao: good evening um I want to say thank you to chelsea, Portugal, my agents and especially my family. Who has supported me since the beginning. I couldn't have been here without you guys. And to my amazing partner, y/n. Without her love and her encouragement I would've been lost. And I'm so thankful to have found someone like her. I would love it if you came on stage with me to celebrate.
He stretched out his hand and everyone clapped for you to go up. You did as told and stood next to him. Joao gave you a kiss.

You helped him carry his trophy and lift it up

She tried kissing him but he moved away

Graciella felt her eyes starting to fill up with tears

Diego: I've been using you as bait to get y/n jealous but clearly it hasn't been working. I've never loved you and never will. Stop trying to be with me. I have no idea why you're here. I never even asked you to come here tonight.
Graciella: you didn't have to, I thought that's what you wanted

Diego nodded

Diego looked around making sure no one heard

Graciella: no don't tell me to shut up. Diego I have done nothing but love you and care for you. Why can you not see me the way I see you? I've loved you way before you met y/n. Why does she always have to have everything I want? What does she have that I don't? WHY IS IT ALWAYS HER?
Diego shrugged
Diego: I'm sorry. I don't know how to answer that. Y/n is the right one for me. I'm sure of that.
Graciella: BUT SHE DOESNT LOVE YOU ANYMORE. AND I DO. SHE IS WITH JOAO
Diego: so? I'm going to fight for her. I'm not going to let her go that easily.
Graciella: look at her
She pointed to the big screen portraying you and Joao
Graciella: look at her smile. She's happy where is. She doesn't need you.
Diego: you don't get to decide that. She does. So please stop obsessing over me
Graciella was bawling her eyes out at this point
Graciella: FUCK YOU
She ran out of the ball room crying. Everyone's attention was focused on Diego. He walked out of the ball room as well.

Afterwards everyone was getting ready to go home. Joao was getting congratulated everywhere he turned. You got a message from Brianna saying she saw Graciella run out of the room crying. You agreed to meet up with Brianna by the emergency stairs that were by the elevator before you left.
You: I'll be back I'm gonna go find Brianna by the emergency stairs
Joao: okay hurry so we can go get dinner!
You nodded and walked away. You made it to the stairs where you were waiting for Brianna. As you were waiting you heard footsteps approaching.
You: there you are, explain to me how-
Diego: huh?
You: what are you doing here?
Diego: I could ask you the same thing
You: I thought you were Brianna
Diego: Brianna? What would she be doing here?
You: it's a long story
Diego: wait. Do you know?
You: know what?
Diego: about Kevin and Brianna?
You: yeah. How do you know?
Diego: oh I've known.
You: AND YOU DIDNT TELL ME?

Diego: I told her everything and she got so upset she started crying and ran off
You: so she really did run off?
Diego nodded
You: and what exactly did you tell her that got her THAT upset
Diego: that I loved you and was going to fight for you. That I was going to get you back.
You didn't know what to say
Diego: she invited herself here. I never invited her. And I told her that she needs to leave her obsession with me alone. And well she didn't take it very well.
You: did you really tell her that?
Diego: yeah.
You: and you meant it or were you just saying it to be free from her
Diego held your hands
Diego: I meant every single word. And In case you don't believe me, I'll tell it to you too. Y/n I love you more than anything, you're my world. And I won't stop fighting for your love until you come back to me. I know I fucked up but I can make things better. I've never met anyone that has played such a special part in my life. No one can ever compete for this spot
He pointed to his heart

Neither of you broke eye contact

You couldn't help but chuckle
Diego: can I kiss you?
You didn't say anything. All you saw was Diego leaning in. His lips touched yours. You didn't know why but you returned the gesture and connected your lips with his. Your lips connected with such ease. You placed both your hands on the sides of his cheeks as he held onto your waist firmly.  In that moment the entire world froze and nothing else was important. Suddenly footsteps approached.
Joao: Y/N? WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS??
