Mary: Diego? Acaso eres TU el padre?
Mauro: hijo, vas a ser papá?
Diego; QUE?? No digan estupideces. Claro que NO. Yo no soy el padre.
You: can we please talk?

His parents left you 2 to talk alone
Diego: I prefer not to
You: please? I really have to talk to you.
Diego: like I said before, I don't want to hear your lies. If I wanted to hear lies I would go to any other bitch.
It got you heated how he called you a bitch in between his sentence but you remained calm to avoid causing a scene.
You: it's important. I'm not going to beg for your attention but I really do have something to tell you.
Diego: perhaps you can tell me later
He said before walking away with his parents. You groaned in annoyance and walked back to chucky. You sat beside him crossing your arms.
Chucky: what happened?
You: Diego
Chucky: you talked to him??
You; I tried
Chucky: you tried?
You: yes, but he's so difficult to reason with. He doesn't want to hear me because he thinks I'm with another guy. And I don't know I guess he's mad about it?
Chucky rolled his eyes

Hours had gone by and no news about how your dad was doing. You were starting to get really worried but tried not to think too much about it to avoid getting stressed. Diego came back alone without his parents to see if there had been any news about your dad. He didn't even bother looking at you. He was too busy talking with Kevin.

Diego shrugged
Diego: don't know and don't care

Diego: I gave her an opportunity to be with me and she turned me down.

You heard Joao's name being mentioned and turned to face them. Diego gave you a nasty look as Kevin looked at you with an open mouth
Kevin: you saw that!! She looked our way when we mentioned his name! He's the dad no doubt.
Diego: can you stop? Jeez. I don't care Kevin. Let's talk about something else. I don't give a fuck about y/n or Joao OR her baby
Kevin: sheesh who knew you-
Diego: here comes the doctor!!

Doctor: family members of Raul Lozano?
You and chucky immediately stood up and walked over to the doctor.
You: I'm his daughter
Chucky: and I'm his son
Doctor: unfortunately I have bad news. Your father has been loosing a lot of blood and needs a transfusion. Is there anyone who can donate blood? I need 2 people. He is type AB.
You: I can
Chucky: no y/n. You're pregnant. I'll do it.
You: and? It's dad.
Doctor: actually ma'am, it's best if you don't. You donating blood can result in several negative outcomes especially in your condition.
You: my dad needs it. More than I do.
Chucky: your baby needs it too.
You sighed
Brianna; I have type AB, I'll donate
Chucky: so do I
Doctor: perfect. Follow me.

After donating chucky went to go take a walk to clear his head and Brianna sat next to you waiting for more news.
You: thank you Bri
You hugged her
You: this means the entire world to me
Brianna: anything for Mr.Raul to recover fast. He has a daughter to congratulate and a grandson to meet!!
You laughed in between tears
Brianna: ah no no no. No crying. You need to be strong.
You; how can I? My dad is at risk. Brianna what if he doesn't make it. What if he doesn't get to meet my baby? I need him. He's all I got left. What am I going to do without him?
Brianna: okay calm down. Listen to me. Everything is going to be okay. You have to be strong. For you and for YOUR baby. I promise you everything will be okay.
You; Bri I need my dad in my life. My mom already left me, I can't have my dad leave me too. I don't want to be alone.
Brianna: you won't be. You have me, Kevin, chucky and your baby. And so many more people who love you. We won't ever leave you.
She wiped the tears from your face
Brianna: here let me go get you some tea so you can calm down a bit.
She left and you sat there trying not to cry. You took deep breaths trying to keep your emotions inside. You played with the rings on your fingers trying to focus your mind on something else. Diego stared at you from afar. He let his heart speak louder than his head and went to go sit next to you. He put his arm around you pulling you closer to him.
You: please, I've already had enough. If you're here to make things worse just-
Diego: shhh let everything out. I understand how you're feeling.
He didn't have to tell you twice before you let your tears run down your face. He held you tightly as he laid his head on top of yours. Brianna came back and saw how you were with Diego, so she decided to go sit with Kevin and gave him the tea instead.
Diego: tell me what's on your mind
You backed away from him and he wiped your tears with his thumbs.
You: stop acting like you care, drop the act.
Diego: I'm not acting.
You: yes you are, one second you don't want to hear me and now you want to.
Diego; just tell me how you feel
You: for what?
Diego: so you can feel relieved. Get all those emotions out. Come on, I'll listen.
You: will you actually?
Diego nodded and you started explaining to him how scared you were and how you couldn't imagine a life without your dad. Surprisingly he listened to you. It made you nervous having him stare into your eyes. Just having him look at you like that made you want to kiss him. Tell him that even after everything you loved him and would forgive him for everything. That deep down you were glad he was the dad of your baby.
Diego: I'm positive everything will be okay. In no time your dad will be better than ever and he will be more than happy to know that you and Joao are forming a family of your own. He was your dad's favorite son in law after all. And you know what, I'm glad you found someone. I would've given up anything for it to be me but I completely understand. And I'm sorry for earlier I just didn't expect to see you like this. It took me by surprise.
You: Joao is not the father.
Diego: what? Then who is?
You: it's been eating me up inside for months, and I've been thinking about what to say all day. And now that it's finally happening I have no idea how to say it.
Diego: what are you talking about?
You couldn't take the pressure anymore
You: it's you Diego. You're the father.
Diego: DONT LIE TO ME.
You: im not! Diego it's your baby!

You: really? My word isn't enough?
Diego: after all the shit you've pulled? No. It's not. I want proof.
You: I knew you were going to say something like this.
You grabbed your purse and pulled out the paternal test between your baby and Joao and handed it to him.
You: you know that you and Joao are the only guys I've been with. So I knew that one of you had to be the father. There was no way to get a dna sample from you so I got one from Joao who was always around. And well, there's your answer.
He took it in his hands and analyzed it carefully. Once he read that their compatibility was negative his eyes grew. He stood up and put his hands on his head before he kicked the chair in front of him.
Diego: WHY WOULD YOU KEEP THIS FROM ME? Y/N WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU THINKING?? I DESERVED TO BE THERE ON THIS JOURNEY WITH YOU-

Out of nowhere you felt this sharp pain in your lower abdomen. You groaned and applied pressure to your stomach. Diego was alarmed and kneeled down.
Diego: y/n? What's wrong?
You: I don't know
You took big breaths
You: it hurts
He sat next to you and held onto your stomach.
Diego: what's going on? What hurts?
You could barely speak due to the pain. Diego started yelling for help as he held you tight.
Diego: it's okay it's going to be okay I won't let anything happen to you or our baby.
