You shut your phone off having the biggest smile plastered on your face. You walked back upstairs and laid down next to Joao hoping you wouldn't wake him up. Luckily he stayed asleep .

The next day you woke up to the bed being empty. You sat up to see a note on Joao's pillow. It read "good morning my love. I have several conferences today and I figured you wouldn't want to follow me to each one. I'll be back later tonight. Love you." This worked to your advantage. You continued on with your day normally. You and Brianna went out for brunch in the afternoon.
Brianna: soooo you and Diego? What's new?
You: oh too many things are going on
Brianna: good or bad?
You shrugged
You: both.
Brianna: aver cuenta
You: I think I have feelings for Diego
Brianna: I KNEW IT. WHAT HAVE I BEEN TELLING YOU THIS ENTIRE TIME.
You: shhhh yeah yeah. But it's bad.
Brianna: bad? Why? It's GREAT. You and Diego can finally be together. You guys are meant to be
You; I'm with Joao
Brianna: and? Don't let your boyfriend stop you from finding your HUSBAND
You: Diego, my husband?? You're crazy.
Brianna: I'm calling it right now. You and Diego are getting married. Mark my words.
You: Mhm whatever. Point is that I'm meeting up with Diego to tell him.
Brianna gasped
Brianna: you're telling him how you feel!?
You; yeah. Should I?
Brianna: yeah of course!! Both of you will figure out what's best for each other
You: I hope so.
Brianna: I'm so excited for youuu
You: I don't want to hurt Joao.
Brianna: that's gonna be a problem
You; I know. And I have no clue what to do
Brianna: let's see what Diego thinks about your feelings and then we'll see what to do from there yeah?
You nodded in agreement

It was past 10 and you were at Brianna's place waiting for Diego to call you.
Brianna: relax y/n. He'll call
You; it's past 10.
Brianna: didn't he tell you AROUND 10 and 11?
You: yeah
Brianna: then why are you worrying
You: what if he flakes on me? What am I supposed to do?
Just then your phone rang with an incoming call from Diego
You: ITS HIM
You picked it up immediately
Diego: hola chula
You: hi
Diego: how are you?
You: good. You?
Diego: pues mal pero al escuchar tu voz me puse de buen humor
You couldn't help but smile. Brianna teased you about it
You: ahhh si?
Diego: mhmmm. Maybe you could do something to make my mood lighten up a bit you knowww?
You: and what might that something be?
Diego: I don't know. Suck me off?
You: UMMM..yeah no. That's not happening
Diego: mmmm will you let me fuck you instead?
You: out of the question.
Diego: you're lame y/n.
You: ya Diego. Where are we meeting up?
Diego: you're so boring jeez.
You: Mhmmm yeah you've told me that a million times Diego
Diego: I'll send you my address. I'm on my way there now.
You: okay
Diego: see you in a bit
He hung up and a couple minutes later you received the address.
You: got it
Brianna: welllll go then. I'll cover for you if anything comes up
You: I told Joao it was a girls night so I would be staying over with you
Brianna: wait. So you're not coming back to sleep here? You're spending the night with him?
You: pfffft no. Never. But just in case you know? He doesn't know where you live so he won't pull up
Brianna: ah okay. Be careful.
You: I will
You left her house and got into your car feeling butterflies in your stomach the entire way to Diego's apartment.

Once you reached his apartment you saw his car parked outside. He lived in a quiet rich neighborhood. You parked on his driveway and hopped out. You walked up to his door and rang the the doorbell. You waited a couple seconds before you heard the door unlock. It swung open and you were greeted with a shirtless Diego. He had a towel wrapped around his waist and wet hair. He had just come out the shower.
Diego: pásate
He stepped aside and you walked inside. Nilla ran down the stairs and charged at you. She started scratching at your jeans. You kneeled down to pet her as Diego locked the door behind him
You: you got Nilla back?
Diego: yeah, I missed her. It was time she left my moms house and stayed with me.
You: she's adorable
He scratched the back of his head
Diego: umm make yourself at home. I'm gonna go get dressed real quick.
You nodded and carried Nilla. You sat down in a chair caressing her. All around you was new furniture still wrapped in plastic. Diego's new place wasn't bad at all, it was very modern. You waited for a couple minutes before you heard foot steps coming down the stairs. Diego's hair was nicely parted down the middle, he had shorts on and some slides but still, no shirt.
Diego: te ofrezco algo?
You: no I'm good thanks
Diego: you sure? I'm going to make myself a protein shake
You: oh. I don't drink protein shakes
Diego: what do you eat to stay fit then?
You: well I eat whatever I want but make sure it has reduced calories
Diego: ahh so like light food?
You: yeah, you don't do that?
Diego: not really no. I have a specific meal I have to eat now. Our nutritionist created a diet for each of us
You: nutritionist?
Diego: yeah, your dad hired someone a couple weeks ago. And let me just say, she's a pain in my ass. She won't leave me alone about my diet.
You couldn't lie, the fact that he brought up a different girl had bothered you.
You: oh really. Wow. That's crazy.
Diego; yeah I'm sure you'll meet her sometime. She keeps going over to your house as well.
You: what?
Diego: yeahhh she's following us everywhere observing what we eat.
You; that's strange. I'm gonna talk to my dad about that.
Diego: yeah but anyways, what did you want to talk about exactly?
You: well about us
Diego: regarding what? Our status orrr?
You: well it's mostly me confessing something to you
Diego: uhh alright. I'm all ears I guess?
He put everything down and walked over to you. He pulled up a chair next to you and sat.
You: well you know I don't know how to really word this
Diego: uhh just blurt it out?
You: yeah well I imagined this being easier in my mind. Now that I'm here it's getting real embarrassing.
Diego: wait. Are you pregnant?
He stood up from his chair
You: WHAT? NO. ABSOLUTELY NOT.
Diego sighed in relief
Diego: oh thank god!
He placed his hand over his chest
You: no no. The plan B has worked.
Diego: good. Okay, so if you're not pregnant nothing else can be as bad. So just say it.
You: you know how we've been on and off for a while? And how we've both kinda denied having anything.
Diego: yeahhhh?
You: well you know I had a thing for you in the past. And I thought it had gone away once we had split but after I saw you again since our break up I realized that it hadn't. And being with you these past couple of months made me realize that these feelings haven't gone away.
Diego: hold on so what are you trying to say? That you have feelings for me?
You: yes. I've always had.
Diego: are you joking or are you being for real?
You: I'm being for real Diego
Diego: so this is serious?
You: uh yeah
Diego placed his hands on his head
Diego: I would've never imagined that. I thought I had lost everything with you. You made it seem like you actually despised me. You have no idea what I've been going though. I regret everything I've done to hurt you. I realize now that you're the perfect woman for me. You're the only one who understands me and sees the inside of me not the outside.
You: I've tried to deny these feelings and push them away but I just can't. And everytime I'm with you it feels....special
Diego smiled
Diego: I knew it. I knew deep down that you felt something. There was no way you had forgotten about me like that. We can make up the lost time.
You frowned
Diego: what's the matter? Why that face?
You: I don't know what to do Diego
Diego: don't know what to do with what?
You: us
Diego: what do you mean? You want to be with me right?
You: of course! But the thing is we can't be together
Diego: what? Why not?
You: because of Joao. I'm with Joao.
Diego: oh.
You: and I can't hurt him. Not when he's done absolutely nothing wrong. We've been together for almost 9 months now. And honestly throughout this entire time he hasn't made me feel what you do. But I can't just leave him like that and get with you.
Diego: yeah I know.
You: this is a problem
Diego: can't you try talking to him?
You: no he's already on my ass about the kiss we had.
Diego groaned
Diego: fuck. If we want to make this work we gotta wait.
You: wait until what?
Diego: Wait until he falls out of love?
You; ohhh that's not happening I know that
Diego: thennnn?
You: I don't know
Diego: we'll think of something together. Okay? I'll wait for you if it's needed. As long as it takes, I'll be patient.
He held your hands tightly and brought them up so he could kiss them.
