[38] Ice Cream

You looked at him and burst out laughing.
You: you can't be serious
Diego: obviously not.
He rolled his eyes. After a while Nilla got tired and fell asleep on your lap. You went on your phone scrolling through Instagram when you guys pulled up to the shop.
Diego: looks like it's still open.
You looked up from your phone and your face automatically lit up.
You: Nilla is asleep
Diego: it's okay just place her down gently on the seat. We'll be quick.
You: noo. Pobrecita, It's hot as fuck.
Diego: you're right. Just carry her inside with you.
You did as he said and you both walked towards the store, you carried Nilla like a sleeping baby. The little bell rang once Diego opened the door, he held it open long enough for you to walk in.
You: thank you.
You both walked in looking around.
Diego: they changed up the place.
You: yeah, but its still the same in some way.
You guys walked up to the counter and saw the same owner from 5 years ago. He seemed to recognize you by the way he was staring you guys down.
Owner: hello! What can I get started for you?
Diego: hi can we do the-
You: chocolate chip mix
Diego: and the oreo mix
Owner: of course! Anything else?
Diego: nope.
Owner: okay your order number is 53 and will be served to you on the far left.
You: thank you.
Owner: hang on, do I know you by any chance. You two look very familiar.
Diego: probably. I play soccer and she's a model. You've most likely seen her on a magazine or something. Or you've seen my face on tv.
Owner: you guys are together right?
You: oh no no. We're just.. friends?
Owner: oh. I thought you two were some customers I had a very long time ago. They always came every week and ordered the same thing you guys ordered. They were a very compassionate couple. One of my favorite customers.
Diego: how long ago exactly?
Owner: ahh imma say 5 years ago?
You and Diego looked eachother.
Owner: no way. Y/n and Diego? Is this really you guys?
You both laughed.
You: YES!
Diego: ITS US.
Owner: whattttt! I'm so glad to see you guys! It's been forever. Why did you guys stop visiting?
You: I'm very glad to see you too!
Diego: a lot has happened since the last time we stepped foot here.
You: I moved to France but Diego stayed here.
Owner: ay y/n, why France?
You: I'm a model now.
Owner: finally! Your beauty needed to be recognized . What about you diego?
Diego: I play for the Mexican soccer league.
Owner: wow. You two really pursued your dreams huh? Who knew you two had it in you.
You both smiled.
Owner: can't believe you guys are still together, how long has it been of you two being a couple 7 years? When's the wedding eh?
He teased.
You: oh about that. We've actually been broken up for a while now.
Owner: what? No. Don't tell me that.
Diego: yeah. We broke up 5 years ago.
Owner: man. I was rooting for y'all. What happened?
You: why don't you ask SOMEONE.
Owner: oh my god Diego. Did you mess things up?
Diego: maybe.
The owner placed his hands over his face.
Owner: well why are you guys together coming to get your usuals?
You: I was craving your ice cream
He laughed
Owner: so you guys are on good terms with eachother?
You: kinda. We're not completely there but we're somewhere.
Diego: yeah. I guess you could say we're friends.
Owner: well I'm glad you guys still have connection with eachother.
Your orders were served and you guys went to go sit down, Nilla woke up so you placed her on your lap. You and Diego continued talking while eating ice cream. Out of nowhere Diego took a spoonful from your ice cream.
You: HEY!
Diego smiled. So you too grabbed a spoonful from his ice cream as well.
Diego: UH UH.
He snatched the spoon out of your hand.
Diego: it's only fine when I do it.
You: what a selfish snob
He rolled his eyes and gave you the spoon back while you guys laughed. Without knowing, the owner was taking pictures of you guys to upload to his shops Instagram. After a while you two decided it was time to head back, you both said your goodbyes.
Owner: come back very soon!
You: I'll try too.
Owner: you'll try?
You; im going back to France this weekend.
Owner: I'll miss you ordering your usual. You're like the only person who gets the chocolate chip mix
You laughed
You: maybe Diego can still come by and get ice cream
Owner: well I'm very glad I got to see you again. Hope to see you very soon. Have a safe flight.
He gave you a hug
You: thank you.
You and Diego went back to his car and headed back home.
You: thank you for today.
Diego: no need to thank me. I kinda needed to get away from being stuck at home all day
You: I wish I could have more days like this
Diego: why don't you?
You: too busy. Back in France I barely have anytime for myself. That's why I personally think I don't have a perfect love life.
Diego: what do you mean?
You: well I've had several guys after me and you know some have been really sweet and others complete dicks. But none of them have worked out because I don't have time for them at all. I'm just way too busy to be keeping someone else in mind.
Diego: mmmm.
You: and well here I was free for a little bit you know? I think that's part of the reason me and Joao were starting to work. I actually had time for him But clearly there's ALWAYS another woman in the picture.
Diego scoffed.
Diego: what's that supposed to mean
You: you had another woman and Joao had another woman. Why can't you guys just stay loyal to one? Is it really that hard to keep it in your pants? I mean, was I not enough for both of you?
Diego: y/n it's not that but-
You: but what?
Diego: it's complicated to explain.
You: complicated? How so?
Diego stayed quiet
You: I mean for our situation it's not really the fact that you cheated on me that still has a strong hold on me it's who you cheated on me with.
Diego: y/n-
You: I mean my cousin? Really Diego? Out of everyone it had to be my cousin?

I wanted to let you guys know that for about a week I'm not going to be uploading frequently like I always do.
