[117] Father

Joao: yeah go ahead, I'm all ears
You: I meant in person
Joao: oh yeah that too. Where do you want to meet?
You: I'll send you the address see you there in an hour?
Joao: got it

You sat down at table waiting for Joao to come. It was time to get to the bottom of this. Was Joao the father? Or was it Diego? The thought was eating you alive. If the baby turned out to be Joao's you would stay with him. But if it was Diego's he was never going to know about it.
Your thoughts went away when the chair in front of you was pulled out.
Joao: hey!
You: hi!
You stood up giving him a hug
Joao: how have you been?
You: do you really wanna know?
Joao: I'm guessing not so great?
You: not at all
Joao: why? What happened?
You: way too much.
Joao: hm. I'm guessing it has something to do with Diego
You chuckled
You: when doesn't it
Joao: yeah, hes always been a bit of a problem
You: yeah, but it's over now. For real this time. I just can't keep up with him.
Joao: what do you mean?
You: I'm not gonna make this too long. Diego fell into a depressive state since I left him and he's been using alcohol as a coping method. So I decided to give him a call and see how he was doing only to find out he was missing.
Joao: wait? Missing? Like lost?
You: yeah, only it turns out he was at Stephanie's house the entire time. So then we got into a huge argument because he was telling me how he wanted to have kids with me and build a family but I just didn't see a future with him acting like this. He didn't have anything to offer me except problems. Sooo I shut everything down.
Joao: woah. That's intense. Are you okay?
You: ehh it'll get better, it's not the end of the world you know.
Joao: yeah, I guess not. It just bothers me.
You: what does?
Joao: knowing that you're hurting because of him, and I couldn't do anything about it.
You: Joao-
Joao: I know you chose him over me, I get it. But I'm sorry to tell you that you chose wrong. I would've never pulled some shit like that on you and you know it. I always treated you like you deserved. Never in a million years would I have ever done anything to hurt you.
You stayed quiet
Joao: even though we're not a thing anymore, know that I'm always going to be here for you in the good times and in the bad times. You can always come to me with your thoughts or your problems. I'll listen.
You smiled and he held your hand.
Joao: don't ever hesitate to call me. If I have to take a flight to see you, I will without thinking twice about it.
You were about to say something but the waiter interrupted by asking what you guys were going to order.

You spent the entire day with Joao, not caring that there were several people taking pictures of the two of you. It didn't matter anymore. You and Diego were over so what was the big deal? The two of you were walking around the city late in the afternoon enjoying the warm weather and sunset. Out of nowhere your thoughts pushed you to think about ice cream. You didn't believe in pregnancy cravings until now. You were craving ice cream SO bad. You practically needed it.
You: you up for a sweet treat?
Joao: I was just about to ask you the same thing!
You chuckled
Both of you: ice cream?
You both burst out laughing

You guys continued to walk around with your ice cream in hand. You hadn't felt so happy in forever.
Joao: any new projects you're working on?
You: no. I was planning to go back to Mx and take a break but after this incident I don't think I'll be doing that. So I'll have to wait and see what pops up. What about you?
Joao: Euro games are coming up for this year
You: oh, I totally forgot about that.
Joao: If you're not entirely busy you could come?
You: that's actually not a bad idea. It beats staying home all day.
Joao: and possibly with me?
You: with you?
Joao: yes, you could come along with me. So you're not alone. You could be my guest and be around all the time. You would be allowed to come with me to events, matches, practices and obviously you would be VIP.
You: I don't know. I would have to think about it, you know?
Joao: I could also make sure Brianna comes along and gets the same benefits as you. Because you know I'll have to leave you alone during the games. That way you won't be entirely alone.
You: I'll definitely talk to her and see what she thinks about it.
Joao: you don't have to say yes, it's just a thought that you can consider
You: well consider it, considered
You winked and he laughed

You guys were back at your place.
Joao: well here we are. It was super nice hanging out with you.
You: agreed. I really needed this. Thank you.
Joao: you don't need to thank me. I enjoy spending time with you
You smiled
Joao: I gotta get going. The guys are probably wondering where I'm at.
You: guys?
Joao: yeah im staying at a nearby hotel with Gavi and Pedri.
You: what? Why?
Joao: I came to see your show
You: you came...for my show?
Joao: why wouldn't I come to see the best model ever?
You smiled cheekily
You: I thought you were here because of something else
Joao: nope, only here for you
The both of you stared into each others eyes. Joao pulled you in and gave you a small peck on your lips to which you chuckled.
Joao: I'm sorry I shouldn't-
You cut him off by returning the gesture and kissing him back. Your mouths moved in sync unable to allow any room for breathing. It was starting to get a bit heated as he pinned you to the door of your apartment. You pulled away to catch your breath as he did the same thing. Nothing was said. He scratched the back of his head
Joao: wellll I should get going now
He said in between laughs
You: thanks again for today
Joao: it was nothing
He hugged you goodbye.
You: I'll take the trash from you. So you don't have to walk around with it.
Joao: oh you're right. Thanks.
He handed you an empty ice cream cup and spoon.
Joao: Good night.
You: night!

You placed the spoon inside a plastic bag and immediately sent it out to your doctor to have it get tested. You were finally one step away from knowing who the father of your baby was.

A couple days later you were hanging out at Joao's hotel while the guys were out. You guys were having dinner when you received a call from your doctor.
You: excuse me for a sec I have to take this
You got up from your seat and went into one of the rooms
You: hello!
Doctor: hello Ms.Lozano. How are you doing?
You: I'm doing very well thanks for asking
Doctor: any complaints or problems so far along your pregnancy?
You: nope, all good here.
Doctor: that's great to hear, well I'm calling to let you know that I have the DNA results back.
You: that's great!!
Doctor: is now a good time to talk about it?
You: yes
Doctor: perfect! According to the results Mr.Felix is negative for a paternal relationship with the fetus.
Your heart sank.
